I feel like I've been taken for a ride. It turns out that the 360 degree turn is not controlled by the knops on either side of this ”devise”. They rotate but do not control anything. They are just an ornament for decoy purposes.

It wasn't clear from the description what was metal and what was plastic. In hindsight this was obvious, all the black parts are plastic and the rest are metal. This ended up being a little light for my original project but it turned out to be perfect for another application. It works perfectly within its area of competence, more for delicate work like detail painting, than something like carving.
