We live in Texas and it's rarely cold enough for mittens like this, but we got these for a trip to Colorado and they worked awesomely. The leather is tough and grippy in the cold, and they have the right amount of insulation. The wrist velco helps get them on securely and keep snow out. These were mostly used for walking around and a little bit for shoveling snow, but in the future I'm sure they'll get use for other things, including possibly snowboarding. So far, the waterproofing seems to be holding. I'll report back if there are any issues. Best of all, these come at a very decent price compared to many of the other options out there.

Toolant Winter Leather Ski Mittens for Men & Women - Warm Thinsulate, Durable, Waterproof, for Snowboard, Outdoors Activities.$36.99.I ordered these mittens, specifically because they are genuine leather mittens, not the fake stuff. In my opinion, there is really no substitute for genuine leather, when it comes to durability. So much of the fake leather, gets stiff and cracks when it gets very cold out. These are nice-looking mittens and they are very comfortable to wear.We have used them a lot when shoveling snow or just walking outside, during the winter. They are easily adjusted for weather conditions, by just adding hand warmers, as the temperature drops below zero. They have an elastic wrist and also an adjustable wrist strap. The additional elastic strap that you can secure around your wrists, works well when you just want to slip the mittens off to do a chore, without setting them down in the snow.Thank you for using genuine leather.

I grabbed these to try out as my kinecos started to rip at the end of the season. I use leather gloves for one particular ski hill near me that is all tow ropes. I need an insulated full leather glove to hold upto the abuse of tow ropes. They are nice and warm. Very comfortable and feel good. True to size but as for durability for my use case i have yet to get them out to the tow ropes yet. I will updateone i test out how good the leather and stitchong is if they hold up after day one

Don't get me wrong--these are nice mittens and I love the leather. They just aren't quite as nice as I had hoped. Here are my notes:* They have wraparound wrist straps that fasted with hook-and-loop. If you need these, great, but I'm seriously considering cutting them off. They are long enough (and scratchy enough because of the hook-and-loop) that I can't just ignore them. I kind of have to strap them on each time and I don't really need them.* The leather is nice--it feels like it will keep the wind out and hold up well* The insulation is a little thin. Mittens are all about warmth--keeping your fingers together lets them share heat. These feel pretty thin on my hands and don't seem to be al that warm.* I like to put one of those battery-powered hand warmers in when the weather gets really cold, and mittens are ideal for that. It's not cold enough for that yet, but I have good finger mobility inside these gloves and should be able to hold the warmer comfortably.* I got the XL and they feel a little short--my fingers push into the end. I have long fingers, but nothing crazy.* These seem to think my thumb grows out of the middle of my palm instead of the side of my hand. It feels weird and is a little uncomfortable. Why can't the thumb me on the side like every normal pair of gloves? My needs are not crazy--I walk the dog first thing in the morning, and in the desert it gets pretty cold over night. The walk is short enough that my body isn't really warmed up, but long enough that my fingers get pretty cold. I had high hopes for these mittens--I like how they look and love the feel of leather, but I don't think these are the winner I was looking for.
