This is an excellent microscope for kids! The picture quality is very good on the LCD screen, which is bright and easy to see. The zoom is very impressive and we had a blast exploring common items around the house and yard. It included some sample slides that were interesting as well.The overall function is great - easy to use and my kids figured it out in less than a minute without instructions. Definitely would recommend!

DISCLAIMER: I know my included photos are garbage, but my computers on the fritz, so I couldn’t upload any at the moment! Side note, I LOVE that they actually included an SD card, no one ever does that! Having the option to use the SD or just plug in with USB is super easy & convenient.I think something about the way this product looks or is marketed seems as though it’s geared for very young children, but I don’t find that to be the case whatsoever! I ordered it for my children & I find myself using it multiple times per week. I’ve seen way too many ick videos about stuff hiding in raspberries, so I decided to check out our latest batch and I couldn’t believe the detail I could make out! It’s super easy to focus, change the lighting, and zoom in & out.The battery life is great & it’s a fun thing to have on hand. Plus it takes up so little space & has a little cover so you don’t damage the lens. The only thing I don’t like is the placement of the power button. It’s located right in the middle, above the focus and I find myself accidentally pressing it while trying to hold it in place & adjust image as necessary.

This microscope has two ways to use it. By itself or hooked to a computer. On it's own pictures or video can be taken and saved using the 16GB included micro sd card. When hooked to a computer it is identified like a web camera or regular camera. This means it can be recorded using any regular screen or camera recording software.When using it as a microscope there is two different focus modes. One further out and one that becomes clear after zooming much further in. While the microscope can save pictures at 16MP I'd say the actual resolution is about 2MP. Saving a picture any higher resolution than that does not make it more clear. This also comes with a few slides with things like butterfly wing. I can't say if it really is what is says it is because it comes with such a small amount of it. Still neat looking at them through the microscope. The leds around the end of the microscope is nice because a lot of light is needed to see stuff through this microscope. Without the led lights it would be hard to get the light needed through the transparent part.For what it is I'd say this is a great microscope. Kids should have a great time using this. Not really super pro, but for seeing the fibers fabric is made of this gets a great picture. Probably not so great for bacteria. It doesn't zoom that far. Looking at parts of bugs fantastic. Looking at micro print on checks or dollars fantastic. Looking at diamonds and other gems up close good. Really fun to look at things with this.
