I am pleased with this product. I use it often to examine coins and it produces a nice, clear image. I recommend it.

I should have bought this a long time ago. It was easy to set up and shows the coins small details so much more than any magnifying glass I have ever bought. It has really saved the strain on my eyes compared to using a magnifying glass. I definitely recommend it.

It does the job and works well for soldering small components to boards. I've used it to build amateur radio kits and to add DCC boards to n scale locomotives.

First, my background: I am a scientist and microscopist with 45 years experience using light and electron microscopes. I currently have 10 Nikon microscopes in my own lab, with the most expensive one costing over $200K. I wanted a simple and cheap scope for checking the wear of my record stylus at home without having to take it to work and potentially damage it during transport. This scope has very good ratings and claims to be 1500X. When one states the magnification of a microscope, that means that what you see through the scope is that many times bigger than in real life. Normally, light microscope magnification is determined by the mag of objective lens times the mag of ocular lens. This scope only has a screen for viewing, so the magnification is equal to the size of the object on the screen compared to the size of the actual object being viewed. They claim it is 1500X. Although they do not claim that is the magnification of the scope, there is no other interpretation of what the 1500X could mean. Nothing about what 1500X means is stated in the specifications in the manual or anywhere else. The good: For what it is, it is well built, and the images are very good on the screen. The adjustable light on the camera and the adjustable gooseneck lights are very good. The base is nice. It was easy to set up and use. The screen is very nice and clear. The post and height adjustment are a good quality plastic (but still plastic). The remote control works. I did not try the memory card or connect it to a computer or external monitor.Criticism: My main criticism is with their claim of 1500X. On a normal compound microscope, that would be equal to using a 150X objective (which virtually doesn't exist; 100X is usually greatest) times 10X ocular (most common). But, this scope has an electronic zoom, so that could greatly increase the size of what you see on the screen, and theoretically could be up to a total of 1500X. The bottom line is that the magnification of what you see on the screen is nowhere near 1500X the size of what you are viewing on the stage, even at the highest mag possible on this scope.Measurements:This scope changes magnification by moving the camera up and down along the post, and then focusing is done using the thumb wheel on the camera. At the highest point on the post (lowest magnification) the mag is 4.1X. The electronic zoom, which goes from 1X up to "18X" increases the actual mag up to only 7X (=1.7X electronic zoom). At the lowest point on the post for which you can still bring an object into focus, the mag is 25X. The electronic zoom can increase the mag up to 45X (=1.8X electronic zoom). So, the highest mag that this scope can accomplish is 45X (lowest position on post with electronic zoom set to "18X"). I don't have a clue where they get "18X" for the electronic zoom.It is a mystery to me where they get 1500X. That number is clearly false, and they should put the real mag specs in the item description. This scope turns out not to be of high enough magnification for what I need, so I am returning it. I think if you are going to inspect coins or other things of similar size, this scope would be good, which is why I gave it a rating of 4. But, if you need more than 45X magnification, then this won't do it. Objects would be larger if you connected a larger display, but that's not something that counts when providing specs without specifying what size the external monitor would be (which they do not do; I think it would have to be a 300" monitor to get 1500X). Specs should be based on what's in the box. If it would have been a total mag of, say, 200X on the included screen, then it would have been adequate for what I need. But, it is not enough mag as-is.

Assembly takes a few minutes, the stand is sturdy and frequently used adjustments are easy to make.Dual light sources are handy, it's really 3 points of illumination because the lower 2 are independently adjustable, plus with room lighting there are 4 or more angles of illumination. The optional shade is a must.Magnification is adequate, plus it's pretty easy to lower the camera to get closer. The photo resolution of 1080 is the only setting we have used, once the lighting is adjusted correctly the image on the screen is spectacular. The focus is easy and sharp with good depth of field. There is also video capability. As a stand alone unit, the battery in the screen lasts over an hour, and the battery in the base lasts even longer. You'll need a standard 2 port USB /AC adapter for charging and all-day use, that adapter isn't included. You may also plug the 2 USB cables into a PC or laptop, and plugging the screen into another device gives you different options such as to use the device for mass storage or to use the camera/video app on the device. If that's your only power source you'll need to use 2 USB ports on your PC or laptop. The supplied cables are way too short for any sort of plug into the wall type installation. We'll probably order a couple of 10 foot USB cables and wrap them, for us that will be easier than fooling with an extension cord.Aside from the cabling concerns there aren't any other significant negatives with this product. Why spend more?

Love the product! Easy install and easy to operate. Lighting is good, but could be better. Has a knob to dial down , but no actual shutoff.Definitely worth the price.

I odered this and have not yet used it. I received it about a week ago and gave it a try. I am not unintelligent when it comes to similar electronics but I read the instruction to the letter. I charged the base lights and no problem. But when I charged the monitor/microscope, it appeared to be green but there was no image to be found, whether it is plugged in or not. It just goes purple and off again. I have reset it a few times and it reads smilarly which is to say—-nothing. I waited a while to get this and now that I have it completely useless. What do I do. This company won’t return support emails as they asked me to do if I had issues. I am not unreasonable but for them to ignore my support request about a brand new system that never even turned on ? What other company or microscope do you recommend for my high end blade steel collection.Warmest and sincerest regards,Chris
