I used this small hole saw to drill a peep hole (viewer) through my metal front door. When through like it was butter. Excellent fit and finish on the bit and it came in a nice carry case.

Just the right cutting tool for Earl Diamond Solid Brass 220-Degree Large Door Viewer Security Peek Peephole. Cut through steel door. Made my whole job easier.

I bought this drill bit to drill a hole in the front door to install a peep hole viewer. After reading reviews about the center drill bit failures, I removed the spring and then used a regular drill bit to drill the pilot hole through the door. I then used the bit assembly to drill the larger holes, drilling from the outside on each side of the door. It worked perfectly. The cuts were smooth and clean.

I had a steel door with a foam core I was installing a earl diamond solid brass peephole (which I also recommend) in, that requires a 28mm hole. Works great, took about 3 minutes, I do wish the the bit was a bit longer. The first steel panel was easy, but I couldn't reach the back side. I couldn't come in from the other side yet and get it to line up perfectly. So I had to pull the bit out of the drill a bit, more than I'd like to puncture the far side of the door with the small bit. Then I could drill from the far side of the door using the small hole as a guide. But did a quick job, nice clean cut, and it has a nice design. Just wish the shaft was 0.5" longer or to allow cutting through a 2 inch door. For a cleaner cut I recommend using very little pressure and be patient.

This is a circle-saw with a centering drill-bit; you drill a guide hole the centering size all the way through, then put this into the chuck on your drill and use the circle-saw to cut the full diameter hole from both sides. I bought this with a door optical peep-hole, so I was working a hollow-core door. I got quite lucky, of course the saw part cut perfect fit holes through both the inside and outside surfaces, but my guide-hole had hit one of the inside braces, so I had an actual guide all the way through as the circle-saw cut through three diferent interior bracing boards.

I was skeptical of this bit at first since the teeth look so aggressive. I had to drill a foam filled steel door. I was concerned that it would catch on the sheet metal and tear it. However, this bit worked perfectly. I drilled a smaller pilot hole first because I wanted to penetrate the door from both sides. I used the bit on high speed with gentle pressure and the result was flawless.

Cuts cleanly, clogs a lot, very shallow depth of cut, center drill bit is a bit fragile [mine broke day one], but they are in this setup.spring is a nice touch, but may only be useful for very thin materials.I was using it for 1/2" high grade plywood [arcade buttons] and was fine for my one use.
