This tool is perfect for checking if my car windows are legal or designing a house, it's small and easy to use. Easy to use and they read very accurately. It seems to be a great tool.

This device combines functionality, accuracy and ease of use with a gap wide enough to fit any ordinary glass. It's very easy to use and a must-have for checking if your car's tint is legal!

My only real issue with the unit is that the display is small and pretty difficult to read in bright light. I found that I would have to take reading and then activate the hold function (pressing the button until a short beep) and then moving to a shaded area to read the display. The three readings are each listed as their wave length rather than as IR, Visible, and UV. I found that the unit registered consistent values over a number of different readings over multiple days. I did not have another unit with which to verify the accuracy of the readings so am relying on the consistency as a gauge of accuracy. The unit comes with a USB Charging cable and a hand strap that can be attached. The unit itself is only about a half inch thick with ro7nded corners and easy to hold and operate.

I took this meter to my local window tint and detail shop for comparison with their meter and some known tint values. The meter performed well, within ±0.4% of the known standards. UV seemed somewhat sketchy, however, and it was often difficult to get consistent UV readings. I also had an issue with frequent unexpected recalibrations, but I think there might have been some user error in there. Once that that was annoying was the auto-power-off feature, even when the display is locked. THAT was annoying and not adjustable. This meter was different than the 3 other ones they had in the shop in that this meter shows amount of light that passes through the substrate instead of the percentage of how much light is blocked by the substrate. I guess you get used to it either way, but it was still strange.Nice orange display is a little hard to read compared to the other meters that used GIANT LCD displays.

I was excited to start being able to test some of the transmission films that I've been using on grow containers to make sure they're living up to their claims. Initial testing on loose film has been great, it seems to be reading what is expected, except for one of my samples, which may be the sample, not the tester. However, on 3 different window applications on my cars, I can't get it to consistently read the light transmission once it's on glass. 3 different readings of nearly the same place under controlled conditions were all showing very different results. Even after calibrating (holding the power button for a moment), I was still getting useless results.Since I'm mostly testing film that has not been applied, it's not a problem for my application, but if my unit is reading this inconsistently through glass, then I wouldn't rely on it for car windows. Make sure to test your film before it's applied!

This Tint Meter allows you to measure the thickness of glass up to 13 mm, making it suitable for any occasion. It also has a digital display that provides quick results by simply placing the sample on the test area. It measures ultraviolet light, visible light and infrared light. The Data Lock Function allows you to lock the test data by pressing the Pause key.Its small size makes it easy to handle and carry. However, while the device seems easy to use, you will need time to get used to the calibration modes and the data lock function.
