This large timer for kids and professionals has easy-to-read, large numbers, a protective lens, and included dry erase activity card. If desired, write or draw the task on the included Dry Erase Activity Card and place card on top slot. Turn the center knob to move the red disk counter-clockwise to the duration of your choice (up to 60 minutes). The timer is now set, and the quiet countdown has begun. No ticking means no distractions! As time expires, the red disk disappears moving in a clockwise direction - providing an understanding of time left with just a quick glance. For the ultimate in flexibility, the Time Timer Original 12 inch can be used on magnetic whiteboards and numerous other metallic surfaces. It can also stand on a flat surface with its two foldable feet or be hung on the wall. An optional alert (on/off) on the back of the timer controls the sound at the end of the timing cycle.

Très bon article parce que silencieux en classe, aimanté (pratique pour être placé au tableau), lorsque le temps est écoulé, l'alarme s'arrête automatiquement.

bonne finitions, réglage facile pas de frottements, silencieux et sonnerie discrète mais suffisante. La possibilité de d'activer ou non la sonnerie est pratique.Contrairement à d'autres modèle il fonctionne à piles, pas de remontage mécanique donc pour moi moins fragile mais surtout silencieux, pas de cliquetis durant le timer

This timer is perfect for teachers! You just set it to the time you want - no need to go past it and then back again like other timers- and you can choose to have it beep when it’s done or not. I have the alarm option on, and it beeps 4x, then stops. No need to run over to it to turn it off if I’m on the other side of the classroom. I love it! It also doesn’t “tick” like other timers I tried. It’s a silent, visual timer (until the beeps at the end, which is optional), which is exactly what I wanted for our center rotations. Great, steady magnets, too! Love it!!!

This was ordered because my mom, who is bed bound, gives the caretakers a hard time when they try to bathe her or administer meds. She has become adept at stalling when there's something she doesn't want to do. My sister came up with the idea to use a visual timer instead of a timer on someone's watch. The reason is because she can see the timer counting down and also, she can't accuse someone of making the time shorter that what it actually is. The timer is pretty much ready to go straight out of the box. It came with batteries so that's a plus. Although it is far larger than I thought it would be, we find it works will with her diminished vision. It's super easy to use. Just move the black knob in the center to indicate how much time you want on the clock. That's it! Turn the handle and let it go and it will start counting down the time.

I absolutely love this timer! I use it with my students at school to help them stay on track during activities, and it's been a game-changer. The visual countdown is so helpful, especially for kids who need that extra reminder of time passing. I also use it at home with my own kids to set time limits for tasks or screen time, and it works great for that too. The dry erase feature is a bonus for customizing activities. It's simple, effective, and makes managing time so much easier. Highly recommend it!

I love this! I'm buying another! But, yes, the first one broke. The whole family uses this with much success. My 3 year old wanted to play with it. He was being gentle enough that I thought it was fine, but he pushed the dial past the 0 mark and now it doesn't work anymore. Well, lesson learned.

Edit: I originally wrote this review in 2018. It’s now 2021 and the timer has stopped working. The reason: my 2 year old toddler got a hold of it when my 9 year old son pulled it down off the wall. The plastic isn’t broken or anything. It simply stopped rotating on its own. My hubby had fixed it but now it’s stopped working completely. I would still recommend this timer, just make sure you hang it up high enough to where kids can’t take it down. As long as it’s out of reach, it should function perfectly and last a long time. I had actually started using it for my home gym as well. And since it wasn’t stationary, we got a little careless with it. In the future, I intend on getting a couple more of these. One for the home gym and the other for their homeschool. It’s quite practical and although delicate, extremely useful. Especially for those of us that loose track of time easily. It’s great for setting limits on TV time as well.Original review:We got the largest size and wall mount it above our computer in our homeschooling space. It has been the perfect solution for keeping us on task. My 6 year old loves setting the timer. He knows he has 30 mins of computer time and he sets it every morning after breakfast. When it dings, it's not annoying, but loud enough that it reminds everyone it's time for the next activity. My son now has a better concept of time. When it dings, he shuts off the computer on his own and we get started on Math. By far, one best purchases I've made for our homeschool. I am terrible at timing and routines. This helps tremendously. I don't think the materials ate partcularly long lasting. Seems flimsey. But my son isn't the most careful and it has withstood his use so far. I hope it holds up! Oh, also, you can't go all the way to 60 mins bc the red will overlap with zero and it will ding. Not a big deal for us. The only subject that takes us that long is phonics. I've had this timer for just over two years now and it has been used and abused by my four year old twins and still works! It's also solved countless problems. Anytime they're fighting over using the same toy/computer/anything, I get out the timer and they have to take 5 or 10 minute turns. I also bought the 8-inch timer for use at work, and can tell you the difference, besides size. The 8-inch one has one quiet two-beep sound when the time is up - just right for an office environment. The 12-inch one has four loud two-beep sounds when the time is up - good for home. The 12-inch one would be too big & loud for an office. The 8-inch one would be too quiet for hearing over the noise at home. If you ever think it is broken, check the batteries. If the timer is knocked over the batteries sometimes shift out of position inside the battery case. They just need to be pushed back in position and it should work again. Another time, I thought it had stopped working because it wouldn't make any noise when the time was up. Turns out one of my kids had turned the sound on/off switch (in the back) to the off position. It is quite light and may at first seem flimsy but has turned out to be surprisingly durable. I also wish the black plastic frame was made out of a nice wood so it looked better, but that is a minor complaint compared to its functionality.
