I use this cutter a lot on my paper crafting projects. The quality of the cutter is amazing, but then it is Tim Holtz which I always expect excellent quality and I'm never disappointed. This creates a beautiful edge and is a great tool. Can't say enough about this. I also just bought this one for a friend and she was thrilled.

I've held off on this because on videos people talk about how loud it is, & it sounds much louder on video than other guillotine trimmers. It might be a little louder, but nothing like how it appears in videos. I thought because of the deckle edge, you might need more force to cut, but it cuts beautifully & easily! The deckle cut looks a little different depending on if you cut at the top, the middle or the bottom, which is a nice feature.I love the deckle look, & I still love to ink the edges of my cardstock for certain projects, & the deckle edge is great for enhancing that look.Much more affordable than getting rectangle AND square deckle dies. Plus I can cut any size I want. The only deckle edge dies I've bought are circle ones, I just can't get this trimmer to cut a perfect circle 🤣

The product does well for awhile but eventually stops cutting all the way through the paper.

This is my review of Tim Holtz’s Deckle Edge ToolThis is a standard guillotine trimmer that delivers a distressed edge to paper. With the exception of the metal blade, the unit is constructed of plastic and is light weight. My primary purpose is to deckle the edges of prints of my holiday watercolor. I usually do it by hand, but thought I would give this product a try.My watercolor paper of choice is Strathmore 140 pounds, cold pressed, and this trimmer sliced through it without a problem. However, when I tried two sheets of 140-pound paper, it struggled to cut it, and I was afraid I might break the plastic guillotine arm. So, in my experience it is one sheet of paper stock at a time.My biggest con is that I would have liked the deckle effect to be more pronounce.

I wanted a regular small paper cutter to replace a much loved one that had broken. I didn't realize this cut a ragged, rough edge rather than a straight cut. Returned and got the one I wanted.

I like the fact I can get the beveled edge without tearing it haphazardly. It is a clean and smooth cut for my cards.

This is NOT a heavy duty paper trimmer. Its for crafting! Be gentle and you will get very good results. I am very happy with it and now I find myself using it on all my journal pages, tags, cards etc. Adds so much more to a journal than a boring straight edge. It only cuts 8.5" but just fold your page in half and you can get all 3 sides deckled. I don't believe it's meant to cut a stack of pages either. I will cut 5 coffee dyed pages at once. (My limit.) Take your time.

I almost sent this little critter back to Amazon. However, I really wanted to use deckled edges in my junk journals. When it arrived, I couldn't wait to try it out. It's a little light weight. I kept getting shredded edges, no edges ,and only deckles on half of my sheet of paper I cleaned up the shreds and packed that kill joy up.After cooling off, I unpacked the cutter and tried a few things. First I put it on the hardest surface in my apartment. Then after getting the paper situated, I held the paper guard down real hard while at the same time I put a lot of pressure on the cutter handle, bringing it toward me snug with the bottom cutter edge. The result was consistently perfect deckled edges. A tip to Tim Holtz: A few simple and clear dierctions would make a huge difference.
