L'annonce n'est pas claire et si vous êtes novices en la matière (ce qui est mon cas) vous vous retrouvez en moins de deux avec un port usb qui n'est pas compatible avec votre appareillage...

I needed to reinstall my MacBook Air operating system as had to replace an SSD that had died. It couldn’t see my Wi-Fi so the only option was to use something like a network adapter and I figured that the Thunderbolt adapter would be the most efficient. The only issue I met was that I ordered the wrong network lead after following the link of a lead featured under ‘frequently purchased with’, mistakenly thinking it was compatible. That connector was too large for both the modem and the adapter and was returned. I then purchased a cat 6 lead (CSL - 2m CAT6 Ethernet LAN Cable - High-Speed Patch Cord - Gigabit RJ45 Network Lead). All connected and the setup of the new ssd in Internet Recovery and re-installation of OS following an Ifixit downloadable guide worked like a dream and I again have a fully functioning MacBook Air.

If your town's internet speeds are anything like mine, migrating from an old MBP to a new one over WiFi will be an exercise in faith and patience. My router isn't fast enough to even stream an HD movie, never mind 200GB of my crap from one Mac to another. This dongle allowed me to use ethernet thru the T-bolt port, which was much faster but not yet out of the evisceratingly-slow speed range. 6 hrs later, it finished... and I'm pitying the fool that tried to do this with a 10Mbps router over WiFi...Pros: if you have a late-2013 MBP 15" and want to migrate from an older machine (with a dedicated ethernet port), this is the fastest way. Typical Apple build quality, excellent.Cons: Cost, of course... no more wired internet w/o this part.

I bought this for my NUC-DC3217BY. It has no RJ-45 port and I've been using it with a intel mini PCIe Wifi adapter. It has a thunderbolt port so I took a chance and got this adapter. I could not not find out who makes the chipset so I started downloading drivers for NIC. Luckily I started with Broadcom. On the second try I found out that the driver for Netlink 57xx chipset 5781, 5786, 5787, 5788,5789 works fine for Windows 7 though it says driver for Windows Vista. So those who wants to use their thunderbolt port on intel NUC's for gigabit ethernet in Windows 7, this adapter will work fine. I am now getting gigabit speed fot my NUC. I was initially going to get a USB adapter but the Intel NUC has only 3 USB port and they are USB 2.0. Did not have USB port to spare.

I purchased several of these to provide a wired ethernet connection to several Late-2013 MacBook Pros in our office. These work well and provide the expected throughput. However; looking back I realize that I should have purchased USB-3 ethernet adapters and leave the thunderbolt ports reserved for external displays. In our office our MacBook users are all using two external displays, so by taking up one of the two thunderbolt ports, this means that one of the external displays has to be driven by the HDMI output. While the HDMI output works well, you don't have as many adapter choices as you do with Thunderbolt, so we lose just a little flexibility by using these adapters instead of USB-3.One thing this has going for it over a USB adapter on a MacBook is there are no drivers needed and it works perfectly out of the box.If you're after no-hassle full-speed ethernet and don't see yourself using your only thunderbolt port on a MacBook air, or one of the two ports on a MacBook Pro, then go with this. Otherwise I'd recommend trying a USB-3 ethernet adapter instead of this Thunderbolt adapter as they're cheaper and should be just as fast, in theory.
