Confirmed that all thinkpad/lenovo branding has been covered up by those little QC stickers. My thoughts are that Lenovo probably commissioned a bunch of these from the manufacturer, but were mistakenly molded with connectors that were too wide to allow the use of the USB-C port next to it. Instead of taking a loss on the batches that lenovo didn't want, they sell them off at less than half the cost (recovering manufacturing costs, and likely still making a profit). So grab a utility knife with a sharp blade and slice the left side down close to the metal. Takes only a minute -- works great, gigabit link.

The newer Lenovo X1 Carbon series (and likely some of their others) have a *built in* Gigabit ethernet port. Unfortunately it's a proprietary connector and not the older-style "pop-out" one, likely for reasons of size of the laptop itself. "Universal" USB-C ethernet cables work well also, but the built-in one is faster.Lenovo wants an obscene amount of money for what amounts to a connector on the end of a wire; this is a much-more reasonably priced alternative, and it works.

This works fine, but it does block the adjacent USB-C port on the X1 Carbon Gen 6. After some work with a knife and sandpaper, it no longer blocks the port.

Works great on X390 once an ugly adaptation is performed. Design is flawed for people with out the dock. Had to lop out one side, so minus one star.
