After having two children that have had recurrent ear infections, I decided to take matters into my own hands and buy my own otoscope. I was very excited today’s on my child who was on anabiotic‘s for an ear infection last week. I received the otoscope and immediately used it, but was disappointed that within two minutes it stopped working. I was very bummed. I contacted the customer service via email and was happy when they responded very quickly to. I explain what happened and next thing I knew, I received a new head to my otoscope and they even included extra specular for it within days. After using it several times now, it is a very effective product. I mean, it’s not the exact same as a doctors otoscope As far as quality (I have experience in the medical field) , but for the price and the fact that it does it’s job and provides a nice and clear picture of the eardrum, I would definitely recommend. overall, I was very impressed with the product, price & customer service!

It takes a bit to get used to see the drums, specially in kids, but this otoscope is clear and has a good light. As other mentioned the tips might get loose a bit too easy, but I also noticed that I would only think so when I was turning it the wrong way trying to see something.Good otoscope for the price, specially with the tips and the case.My daughter had several ear infections and we decided to buy this, which was a great idea. Even though my daughter now has tubes, another day she had a cold and I smelled something different near her ear. 5 minutes later I had confirmed there was drainage going on to the point it was bothering her, we put a few drops and it was all good. No trip to the doctor, no copay, no stress.Bottom line is, if you're buying this to look at your kids ears, you might want to get used to it with an adult first, and then with the kids. If your kids are prone to ear infections and still very young, I would suggest to have check their ears every two or three weeks, mainly to get them used to it and you familiar with what you're supposed to see and how to do it.

I bought this about 3 weeks ago since my wife and baby daughter both got ear infections at the same time. After reading all the reviews on amazon I decided on this one even though I didn't know if the ear piece would fall off or not. I am very pleased with the purchase as everything stays together and actually takes a little bit of effort sometimes to get the piece off but that's what I would expect. The LED light was something that I knew I wanted since I didn't want to have to buy another one just because the light burned out.The website referenced in the material is awesome. There are pictures and explanations that greatly enhance your abilities and I could tell just by looking at the pictures posted on the site that they both had ear infections (one inner ear infection and one outer ear infection). I still took them in to the doctor but it was so great to be able to do a preliminary check beforehand and have that much more knowledge. I will be using this many times over the years.

Note my 5 star rating is for the product...I have Prime and it took an extra 4 days to get to me past when it was supposed to be here....I am a pediatric nurse and also a mother to a 4 year old boy. Now I really wanted to get an otoscope because my son has had so many problems with excessive wax buildup I wanted to see for myself what I was really dealing with before I took him in to get a good cleanout. I'm so glad I bought this! I finally understand why my son is constantly rubbing his ears and this allows me to keep a good eye on his ears. It even works on adults too (has been tested). It comes with tips for an infant, an older child (one I use on my son, can use on younger and older too), and one for an adult. They are NOT disposable tips but we wipe them down after each use and clean up great. They just pull off and insert another tip if needed. The amount of light that comes out is perfect. Everyone's ear canals are shaped different so you just have to fiddle around with that but you will see the eardrum with no problem as far as lighting goes. I don't worry about using the pictures because they really aren't all that helpful but for some they are useful in pointing in the right direction of a cause for ear problems. It turns on and off by a button on the bottom of the otoscope. The case is also a definite bonus. It's hard and has nice lined places for storage.Overall, great product for a great price. Would buy again for sure!

The Dr. Mom LED Otoscope with hard case is great to have for nursing students, nurses and moms. The LED light is very bright and it makes it easy to view inside the ear canal and gives true color to the ear drum. The hard case is a plus to have so that it can be kept safe. It comes with 3 different sized cones, two batteries and the otoscope has a clip for staying in your pocket. The on/off switch is on the bottom, just like a pen light, and it is very lightweight. I have only had it for a couple of weeks now, but I am looking forward to seeing how long it will last. I do wish the molded tray the otoscope lays in wasn't a cheap plastic covered with fuzz. I wish it could have been a foam or something better than the plastic tray, but it is good for the price I paid. This is a great tool to have for any beginner.
