The planter this kit comes with is actually pretty good quality, but since there is no option to return this item if defective or to have it replaced, I'd really suggest you buy your planters and lights separately. The [updated] light I received worked so well for a few weeks, but is now dead. I have no recourse but to eat the cost and order a separate light anyway. I did read the bad reviews on this product before I bought it but I was hoping it would be fine since it seemed they tried to update the light and send a better item. But the updated light is just as bad as the 1 star reviews for the former light. It doesn't work.

These are a lot nicer than I expected. Definitely a thicker, quality plastic than some of the name brand ones and they have taller domes than most seeds starting trays which is amazing for starting things like tomatoes. They have vents at the top to adjust humidity if needed as well.

I have just been using these for a month but so far I am very happy with their design and build quality. They are a good size too - so they don't get bent when moving them around.

Love the lights - you can use them with any container. The 60 cell seed starting tray is a bit too many for me right now so I'm using the lights with other trays. They have worked great - easy to bend to where you want and being able to light them with a timer is great.

i received this produced and opened it plugged it in right away to make sure it worked but i didn't use it for about 2 weeks after using it for about 2 weeks the lights completely quit working seller said sorry past the 30 days so i basically paid over $100.00 for the tray

I'm so glad I took a chance and got these as opposed to getting generic ones from my local store. They're surprisingly sturdy- in the pictures I'm pushing on the plastic pretty hard and you can see it's barely bumped in at all.I also really like that the footprint per unit is just a relatively small square, about a square ft per each. This will make trying to grow in a small space much easier.The dome is slightly higher than standard generic trays as well, which is a huge plus. Higher dome = older, sturdier seedlings to plant.I'll be planting vegetable and herb seeds in this with 42mm jiffy peat pellets tonight, and will try to keep this review updated on the progress. So far they look great!1st Edit-It's been 6 days since I planted seeds. I started to see the earliest sprouts after 3 days. So far the lid seems to be keeping the humidity in really well, and I've had no condensation dripping out at the edges of the lid at all which is impressive.
