Love that they are reusable. Bottom is a little flimsy and squeezes soil. Pick up by the sides.

The seed cells are a little small ( may have to transplant earlier) but they are good value for the money. The trays are sturdy.I don't start seeds for another month. But I think they will be just what I need.

These seem to be great quality-similar to Burpee's reusable silicone bottomed seed starting kit, but a better price. The plastic greenhouse domes and water catching tray are made of fairly thick plastic- not like the floppy ones such as the Jiffy trays/greenhouse domes, which tend to crack when you carry them when full of seedlings. The humidity vent is a nice feature and gives some control over airflow. Although I haven’t filled these with soil or planted seeds yet, the silicone pops up just as well as in the burpee kit, which I did use to successfully start seeds. It’s a great feature- just understand that in order for it to work, the roots need to be well enough developed to hold the soil in place when removed, otherwise the soil will just kind of crumble out. But this is the same if you are trying to remove seedlings from any type of container. The pop up silicone bottom is by far the least disruptive to the roots and easiest to use system I’ve found. One thing to be aware of is to check the size of the trays carefully before buying. These are less than 1/3 the size of a typical 6-cell six pack. You will not be able to get proper root development if you let your seedlings get very big in this. Tomatoes, for example, will be only a few inches tall and won’t have very thick stems yet by the time they outgrow these cells. You will need to transplant them into bigger nursery pots or directly into the garden while still very tiny.

I have the absolute most black thumb when it comes to most gardening/plants but these little kits are making it super easy for me to grow my own, Catnip, Lavender, Chamomile and Peppermint (other things haven't quite sprouted yet).I left a few cups in each tray empty and then I just squirt water through those into the bottom tray and allow my plants get moisture through the evaporation so I don't hurt them, the tiny Chamomiles were my first sprouts and they seem quite content in there, so far I have the top vents open about halfway.

These work well but I’m not sure how well they’ll hold up to be reused over the years. I bought them hoping to be more sustainable but one tray already cracked. It’s still usable for now but we’ll see how long that lasts.

Like the vent. Not a fan off the lid. Condensation builds up and rolls off and drips on to the ground.
