I've gone through many hydrometers over the years and by far this is the best I've found. I also have a refractometer that I no longer use.I like the thermometer and the temperature/gravity correction chart built into the hydrometer.

For starters, it is made in the USA. That is an automatic product win right there. Combine that with the high quality and common sense features, it is a great hydrometer. I like the thermometer as a just in case for our of temp spec fluids. Easy to read, no silly colors! The cylinder is nice and wide based. The heft keeps it pretty stable. Definitely helps me made consistent meads.

First: It's American Made and Hand Made... I like those things.Secondly: It works great! I've used it for about 6 batches now and it works perfect. I'm making mead and I made a box wine set for my wife. The cylinder is a good thick glass with a bumper on it. I did break my first hydrometer, which was completely my fault, I left it in the sink to wash it and a glass fell on it. I ordered another one from Brewing America and got it in 2 days. I thought I was going to have to start a batch of mead without the OG. I will always buy Brewing America Hydrometers.

The included temperature correction is awesome. The packaging is great, and is necessary, because I found the cylinder to be EXTREMELY fragile. I didn't even drop it; it just tipped over on a table and the cylinder cracked and broke where the plastic bumper guard was. I've since been using an old cylinder, and am still overall happy with the product.

Actions speak louder than words and Brewing America's actions speak volumes. I believe them when they say they want all their customers to be happy with their purchase. After verifying the hydrometer was off by a few points due to my stupidity I contacted Brewing America to basically confirm I had messed things up. They made sure the hydrometer was indeed off by a few points and without question sent me a new one in the mail even though I'm sure it was my doing. It's really nice to come across a company that stands by their products and their customers. I'd happily recommend Brewing America to anyone!!

Not sure if this will effect anything over time, but the wax was cracked and dislodged and stuck all over the inside of the sealed tube. Hard to tell, was this instrument sitting in a cold warehouse that caused it to get too cold or was it dropped? It does interfere with reading the scale in a few places (see photos) but I'm more concerned about the accuracy of this if it was dropped or tossed by the USPS.04/29/19 - New replacement arrived and it's flawless! 💗 Thank you Angela and Kyle for your courteous and prompt handling of this issue. These are high quality instruments, not mass produced junk from China, and unfortunately the USPS doesn't handle small parcels with care. This is money *well spent* for top shelf brewing tools. Purchase with confidence and keep on brewing! 🥃🍷🍸🍺My husband and I are both Air Force veterans so conducting business with other veterans is always a priority for us as well. This has to be some of the best customer service I've ever experienced - thank you fellow veterans, you did us proud!

I got the pro-series triple scale hydrometer with built in thermometer. The first one I received had a defect but Brewing America quickly replaced that at no charge, and everything works exactly as advertised. The reduction in wort required to get an accurate reading is very helpful, and the built in thermometer with adjustments printed on it reduces the number of instruments I need on brew day. Also, when I checked the scales are dead on in terms of calibration.If you ever have an issue with this product reach out to the Brewing America team, they are very responsive.
