Fermentaholics Proof and Tralle Hydrometer
A proof and Tralle hydrometer is a tool used to measure the alcohol content in distilled spirits. It’s a glass device that you float in the liquid, and depending on how deep it sinks, you can read the alcohol level on the scale.
Easy Test, Accurate Results
The proof scale shows the strength of the alcohol in "proof," which is a measurement used in the U.S. (proof double the alcohol percentage). So, if a liquid is 50% alcohol, it will read as 100 proof. The other scale, the Tralle scale, shows the alcohol by volume (ABV) directly —no conversion needed.

The alcoholmeter comes equipped with two measuring scales clearly marked for easy readings. Proof ranges from 0-200, and Tralle ranges from 0-100.
For Distilled Liquids Only: Proof and Tralle hydrometers are not suitable for beer or wine because they assume the liquid is pure alcohol and water, without sugars or other dissolved solids that can affect density.
