I recently bought a Thermarest sleeping pad; it is somewhat self inflating but requires blowing up further for maximum comfort. I spent a minute or two trying to inflate it by blowing into it but decided to buy the recommended air pump. When it arrived I was skeptical such a small, lightweight pump would be effective; but to my surprise it inflated my sleeping pad fully in just a couple of minutes. It also helps in deflation, although I found it was not really necessary as the pad deflated adequately by kneeling on it as I rolled it up. In summary, the pump does its job quickly and quietly and is small and light enough not to cause any issues. Twenty years ago I was happy to blow up my air mattress when camping, now I enjoy the luxury of having a tiny pump fully inflate my Thermarest pad.

Purchased this because it is a Therm-a-Rest product for my Therm-A-Rest pad. So, despite the review, I went ahead and got it. Not the best choice I made. It is light weight. But that is about it. I followed the directions on both the pump and the pad. Installed the batteries, opened the valve and set it to inflate, attached the pump the pad, and turned it on. It says it is supposed to inflate this pad within minutes. Ten minutes later (I timed it) the pad was just as limp as before I started. No inflation noted. This my friend is NOT a good sign. I then inflated the pad (without the pump), moved the wing-fixture to deflate, attached the pump in the deflate mode, and over five minutes later the pad was just as inflated as before. Opinion on this? If I were to use this and depend on it working, my pad would not be inflated. And over ten minutes and no inflation, that will not work on a backpacking trip. Fortunately, the pump was still in the return phase so back it went. I will ultimately get a different pump and hopefully this new pump will work. We shall see. My thought? I may have just gotten a bad one. That is possible. But with it not working I certainly cannot use it. If you decide to purchase one, just be aware that it may be fine and work as advertised or you may have poor luck and get one that is questionable. The company makes good products and I'm sure they would have fixed it (possibly at a significant cost) but I choose to send it back.

We bought 2 Therm-a-Rest MondoKing 3D Self-Inflating Camping Sleeping Pad to use during a move while we waiting for our household goods to arrive. We also purchased the Therm-a-Rest NeoAir Micro Electric Air Pump at the same time. After 4 nights of sleeping on the floor on half-inflated mattresses (the pump only filled them partially), we decided to try blowing into them by mouth. It only took about 6 breaths each to bring the mattresses to compacity. What a difference it made! We were miserable the first 4 nights on partially inflated mattresses, but once the mattresses were filled, we were much more comfortable. Then we placed them on our Disc-O-Bed XL Portable Cot Bundle (purchased at Costco) and were as comfortable as in our own Select Comfort bed! I can’t say if a different pump would have worked better to fill the mattresses, but at least we didn’t have to worry about OVER-filling them with this pump! Just need to blow a few extra breaths into them.

I have a Therm-a-Rest MondoKing and thought this would be great way to speed up the set up and breakdown. With brand new batteries, it’s too weak to help with inflation at all and the deflate side doesn’t fit the out port. It was a total waste of money.

This pump couldn't inflate Therm-A-Rest NeoAir XTherm NXT in 15 minutes! Very slow and disappointing(( Waste my money.

Seems like a light and easy option, convenience item. However this didn’t pump up my thermarest nxt at all. Took over 10 minutes and still felt only 60-70% full and that was the most it could do. Would not bother with this if I need this and the pump sac.

The pump works fine, but it's tiny and takes quite some time to inflate the Thermarest air pad we bought it for. Again, it works so we really can't complain too much, but it's really quite slow. For the price, we recommend you buy something a little more substantial that moves a greater amount of air per minute.

It's a Micro pump. It's made for the Therm-a-rest pad with the new style valve. I don't have one of those but with a little ingenuity you can make an adapter to use on any mattress and any valve. I use it to inflate a full size coleman air mattress. It worked great and even handled the deflation. It's a little pricey but it's very small and takes up less room and less weight. I am glad I decided on this one.
