Each gauge features a hardened steel plunger that automatically expands within the hole or slot thanks to a balanced spring, allowing for easy and accurate determination of the internal diameter or slot width. The self-centering system makes it easy to use. The range covers most of what I need, and the plastic box is convenient for storage. My only issue is that the locking mechanism feels a bit stiff at times, but overall, it’s a great set for the price.

Simple to use, and more accurate than most methods, this is a decent set of measurement gauges. They'll likely get used a few times a year, so not too worried about them not going the distance. If I needed them in a production situation, I might get some pricier, name-brand units. For me, these work well enough, and are worth a 4.6 star rating.

Feel very solid. I had a little bit of trouble with the gauge slipping around, but I think that was more operator error than a problem with the gauges themselves.

This set was way better than I ever anticipated! The quality is very good! A great assortment of sizes to choose from and all in a really nice storage box. I honestly was expecting so much less for the price! Highly recommend!

First, the case. It's a decent, heavy duty, blue plastic case, and there is foam on the inside to keep all of them in place. The lid is tight fitting, and each gauge is a satin finish, well done. The screw on the end seems pretty good. I think it could be better, but it's not bad. It wiggles a bit, but doesn't seem to affect the functionality. If you press your fingers on the spring loaded portion, it seems to stick a bit and not be as smooth as I'd like. Yet, despite these points, it does work. I tested it on something pretty basic, the inside of the square end of a socket, and pressed it against the side to insure I was getting a straight measurement, because it can be tricky if you're not working with something round. I pulled it out, the gauges stayed in place, and I was able to measure. It is plenty accurate enough for my purposes. Maybe a professional would want something better, but for me, I'm happy with them. I think it's a good, reasonably priced set.

Have always been able to measure external diameters using calipers and micrometers but measuring the diameters of holes has always been trial and error. If I were a machinist, this would not have been acceptable, but my approximations worked for the kinds of projects that required insertion of a shaft or rod without regard to close tolerances. This set will save me lots of trial and error time and result in closer to professional results.
