I wasn't expecting a lot when I purchased this spray gun, however, I was surprised that it didn't even make it through the first use. The tabs that hold the cup are fragile and one of them failed while I was using it, dumping a nearly full cup of undercoating on my clothes and shop floor. I was able to repair it with a pop rivet.Also, the cup does not have any stops for the twist lock, so it is very difficult to know when the cup is the proper tightness. This seems like a fairly easy design change the manufacturer could make and significantly improve the product. Whomever the bean counter was that said it would be fine with fragile tabs and no stops on the twist lock should be relieved of their employment.Otherwise, it functioned as expected, and cleaning it was fairly easy. I will make some mods to the cup attachment and it will be useful on another project.

Works great for spraying bed liner. I didn’t have a single issue, but it does seem rather cheaply made.

Used this for spraying harbor freight bed liner (Iron Armor) on some plywood cabinets. Dilute the bed liner 1:1 with acetone for a better flow and it will also cover much more area. The thinner formula spreads easier and does not run as bad. Mix very well. Mix will take 39seconds and will thicken the more you stir. If you over dilute with acetone just keep stirring and it will thicken up. Play with air pressure between 60-80psi. Also watch your distance from object so to does not run. Multiple coats are better. Start thin and wait a minute or two between coats. It dries really fast. This gun has worked flawlessly on three or four projects over past month and I’m sure it will continue to work for years. Amazing for the price.

Works fine initially then stops .Remove sprayer end from can and prim then replace and it works again .This is annoying but I am trying to work out bugs or if not will have to return .when working does a good job .

Used a gallon of woolwax and hooked this up to my 3 gallon compressor and it works just fine. Forget the negative reviews, they are either expecting professional grade functionality or are just lying. This thing did my 2010 tacoma just fine and the pattern was also good. It works. If you are a DIY kinda person who doesnt wanna pay someone 200 bucks to do it, this IS the way to go. Cheap and works.

I had some Rustoleum Truck Bed Coating that was about 2 years old and sprayed it. I ran out of it, and purchased a new can of it, and noticed that the product has changed, for the better. The new stuff is not as clumpy and did not smell as bad as the old stuff, and it sprayed much smoother as well. This sprayer handled the new stuff really well, but was not as good with the old version of it. I mention this because a couple of reviewers did not like this gun with this coating, but those reviews are older, and the product seems to have changed. It may seem to come out a little clumpy when you first spray it, but it does smooth out a lot when it dries, and it leaves a nice textured finish. I used 90 - 100 psi, out of a DeWalt portable compressor, and it handled it with ease. I would recommend using a disposable liner (I got a package of 10 from Harbor Freight), as it made clean up a breeze. I am glad that I tried this gun as the bed coating is pretty thick, and it handled it well. It does spray it out pretty fast, and it will empty the canister in just a few minutes. I peeled off a dried section of coating, and it was not very thick after it dried. I used about a half of a gallon of primer to coat the trailer, but it took me 3 gallons of Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner. When cleaning the gun with this product, use Acetone, as paint thinner/mineral spirits does not dissolve this stuff. A quick spray of acetone cleaned it internally, and a quick wipe down of the outside, and it was good.

After doing a bit of research and review parsing, I picked up this spray gun to spray Herculiner inside my truck tool box.The gun:It's a basic, pretty cheap all aluminum spray gun. I would not want to drop it as I'm not sure how badly it would tweak it out of shape. But it does work well. It does not come with an air fitting, so you will need a female 1/4 pipe fitting to your air hose connections to make it work.Setup:The gun is rated for spraying at 7-8 bar, which is approx 100-115 PSI. That's pretty high for a spray gun, but it's having to pull up some thick stuff in the process. Most home compressors shut off at around 120 PSI, so you may not even need a pressure regulator if that's the case. I used my little 4 gallon Senco that has a remarkable recovery rate and had no issues. You will need a compressor that can deliver more than 10 CFM @ 90 PSI or you will be waiting for the compressor to catch up. When you assemble the gun, make sure the suction tube is pointed towards the front of the cup, it's bent from the factory and the most common angle you'll hold it at is pointing down a little. You can change that easily if you are pointing up for undercoating.Whatever you are spraying, make sure you mask off everything you don't want covered in what you are spraying, including about 6 feet around the work area. The spray pattern is like a cheap can of spray paint, about a 10-12 inch circle at 20-24 inches hold off, it's not a precise spray at all, but remember you are spraying goop. It works well for the Herculiner and I'd imagine it also works well for undercoating as that is what it's advertised for.Depending on what you are spraying, you'll likely need to have very good ventilation (preferably outside) and use a VOC rated respirator. The fumes emitted when you spray anything are pretty bad, and you are right in it. Don't be dumb, use a respirator.Use:It's about at simple as it gets to use, fill the cup, install the head, point ans shoot. There are no adjustments to the gun, except for the inlet pressure you apply from your compressor.Cleanup:It cleans really easily and I was able to get it completely clean by running solvent through it a couple of times. The solvent you use will depend on what you are spraying, I used Xylene as I was spraying Herculiner. Don't let anything sit in the gun, our you'll be buying a new one... I was able to completly clean the gun out 3 times will about 2/3 gallon of Xylene, so it does not take much.Overall I am happy with this gun. I doubt I'll use it a lot, mostly bought it to do the toolbox as brushing/rolling the inside of a toolbox would be a total pain in the rear...
