These chisel guards are a must to keep chisels from getting damaged or cutting yourself as you reach into your tool bag or anyway the person is using their chisels.

I was skeptical, but these are great. They are much better than the free ones that come with new chisels. They are thick, durable, and go on snugly. I wish they were slightly less expensive, but still worth the money because they maintain the blades while also sparing my fingers and tool belt from getting cut.

My chisel set came with some plastic red tips, which got sliced over time and I lost a couple covers. These are nice as they are a snug fit and are more durable than the original hard plastic covers. Takes 2 hands to put them on, and they don't seem to be cut easily by the chisel blade. I'm not sure about the slit to view the blade, it might be so that you can tell just how far to push the chisel into the cover.Bottom line - they fit and they don't fall off easily. I feel safer with these covers and they also allow me to be a little rougher putting these in my tool box as I know the blades are covered and won't be cutting or scratching something in my tool bag or box.

I see started making chisel edge covers but bailed when I saw these. Good grip, stays on even when I’ve sized up the cover. Color makes them easy to find on workbench.

I would have loved these in all ways. Except for one design flaw:There is a cutout at the end of the the guides that allow a chisel tip to easily push out of guard.I can see no reason for this cutout. I don't need to see the tip of my chisel.I bought these for peace of mind when toting around my extremely sharp chisels. With these guards, I would not be sure they would be safe, and therefore no peace of mind.I wish they didn't have that cutout.

I spend a lot of time making sure my chisels are scalpel sharp. These blade guards will protect them when not in use. Fit snug and don't fall off like the hard plastic one do. More important they will protect your fingers when you go to reach for them. This makes them MUCH safer to use, especially in the field as they won't accidentally fall off CREATING A SEVERE LACERATION POTENTIAL. I have chisels that I keep in my field kit that I used the hard plastic guards and they were forever falling off into the pocket the chisels were stored in. I would have to continually fish them out. Not any more, first got these guards for those chisels, bought several sets more for all my chisels. only downside is 1 1/4" is as big as they offer. Cheep enough that you wont freak out if they get lost on a job site.
