Fits VERY tight in the bell, which makes it difficult to play on. The intonation is horrendous, the sound isn't muted, it's muffled. The mute itself seems built fairly well, and is lightweight, so maybe with bigger corks, it would do better. Overall, it may work as a practice mute, but it isn't worth spending your money on.

This mute is lightweight and much smaller than a standard trombone straight mute. It fit perfectly in several of my tenor trombone bells. It allows me to play most notes while deadening the sound until it is hardly audible. It fits tight, so lower notes are a bit difficult to play with less airflow, but this will serve me well as a warm-up mute while waiting to perform.
