I got this float filler in 2017 for a new fountain. It's STILL WORKING in 2025, seven+ years later.

This really worked well to keep our fountain full and has been working for many years without any issues.

I originally wrote a review saying this product had a cheap hose but I was wrong. The hose I had problems with was a longer hose that I had ordered from a different seller. This product works great in our fountain and the hose that came with it is actually a sturdy hose but I needed a longer hose. I would just suggest that this seller offer longer hoses as an option.

Ok, I gave it 5 stars across the board. It arrived on time and nothing was missing. I followed the instructions and all went well. No leaks and functioning as it’s supposed to. Mine is installed in a 3 tired fountain in my front yard garden. I typically was filling water up to 3 times a day. Let’s see how well it performs on its first days in operation. I’ll update should any problems occur. I’m ready to enjoy the pricey product and let it pay itself off with less trips to fill up the fountain. Happy I invested in it.

Very straight forward installation. The trick was to pipe up the water source but that is not part of the product. This comes with a black tube about 1/4 plastic. You screw in the fitting and then push the tubing into the hole. It is a press fit. I did not get it in far enough and/or the tubing had some sideways force and it came loose. I re-installed this time making sure the tubing was installed further in and was careful to maintain alignment and it has been working fine. I used the extension which screws in. It is very easy to move the float up and down to get the desired constant level. It sure beats filling the pond every day and wondering if the pump was going to go dry.

It works fine but was a problem to set up. The tubing connecting either to the hose or to the leveling device was hard to insert without enlarging the holes into which the tubing had to be inserted. This caused leaking. I had to use Shoe Goo to fill in around the hose connection to stop the leaking. It is the same problem on the other end, but at least that end is under water, so I didn't address that issue. After about 3 months the pressure from the hose was too much and the tube blue out. Apparently I had water spewing full stream from my hose for hours before it was noticed. There is no way to repair it. I am going to try another auto fill system since this one broke, but this time I'll get it from someplace else.Actually I've given up and gone back to filling up the fountain manually. It seems no one has a reliable method of connecting the hose to the tubing leading to the level detector.

I do not recommend this product which I purchased for an outdoor fountain. The design was very problematic. The plastic tube connecting water input to leveling device was poorly designed and leaked terribly (and was very hard to assemble because rigid PVC tubing was used). I could not figure out how to attach the extension arm, which was necessary for my setup, to the core unit. The biggest issue was the rigid PVC tubing. I am going to try an MLS-3401 EasyFill System which uses an electronic water sensor rather than a manual float and has a properly designed pump.

I've only been using the auto fill system for a few days, but so far it is working perfectly - I don't expect that to change. It was very easy to install. I like that it comes with a couple different adapters for attaching to water source. I used the adapter for the 1/2" PVC pipe. I installed a shutoff valve (not included with the auto fill system) in the water line before it enters the fountain underground. By just barely opening that valve, the water pressure is just fine and doesn't overload the auto fill system. I also like that the system comes with an extension arm for the float part of the auto fill system. This is ideal for fountains that are a bit deeper than others. It took only a couple minutes to install as well as to adjust it to get the water at the level I wanted in the fountain. This system sure makes life easier and makes for one less thing to monitor around the house - don't have to worry about the water in the fountain evaporating off or running so low that the water pump burns out.
