When I ordered these sunflowers, I didn't know what to expect.What I received was a box with abundant seeds and pots and planting medium.Since I live in California and weather is mild, I planted the sunflower seeds directly outside in my raised community garden bed.These must be some special seeds as an abundance of seedlings started poking through the soil for both regular and mammoth sunflower varieties! Talk about instant gratification! I used more seeds than I needed to thinking that most of them wouldn't come up - I was wrong - all of them came up and had to thin out the seedlings so plants wouldn't overcrowd each other and the rest of my vegetables in the garden. From my experience, I strongly suggest following suggested plant spacing rather than crowd the seeds like I did.After two months, they Sunflower plants are about 3 feet tall and about to bloom! Will add pictures to the review once I have actual blooms.I didn't use the pots or soil discs that came with the kit as weather was good and planted directly outside. Good thing I can use the pots to plant other things.5 star rating. Absolutely 100% positive experience.Totally recommend this sunflower growing kit! Very high quality seeds with an almost 100% germination rate.Such a good value and a great gift for kids and adults.

It’s was so much fun working with my grandson and every time he would check it out it was a little taller. He had so much fun watching it grow then planting it outside.

Germinated quickly and easily with no issues at all. Just about ready to transplant these out into the garden. Excited to watch them grow! Will definitely order another again next season. Would also make wonderful gifts!

Well, this is 5 stars for germination - they germinated fast and I had over 90% germination when testing them in a damp paper towel. I have no idea if they are true, as I just planted the germinated seeds this week.

This set is good for getting started on growing large sunflowers. My son was super excited to see this arrive. It comes with 5 pots and a lot more than 5 seeds so if you want to plant all of them right away, you'll need extra pots to put them in. We planted one of each variety in the pots and all of them sprouted for us with no effort.

This is a good kit for beginners or anyone that likes sunflowers. A good variety of seeds to try and coco soil discs for planting. The plastic starter pots are very thin, so don't expect to reuse them a lot, but that is typical for single use pots. I haven't tried germination yet, as I am doing all my vegetables right now. This is a nice kit for a decent price.
