Little Sun Joe makes mowing fun! Long grass and weeds are no problem. The quiet motor is a happy hum. When we have to go up the stairs to the other yard (unplugged first of course) I can easily lift Sun Joe by the handle and push bar. Simple construction means easy cleaning and maintenance too. Best mower ever.

You ever buy something thinking "this is gonna suck..." and it didn't?That's the best explanation I can come up with for this thing. I bought it completely exceeded all expectations. Works incredibly well.I'd recently purchased a string mower/trimmer. It couldn't handle my yard very well in mower mode. I used it four times and got sick of it. We live in a duplex. Our front yard is something 100' L x either 6' W or 15' W, depending on how close you're standing to the street. The back yard is 30'x30'. I kept my stringed machine to use as a trimmer.Pros:Super light weightQuietPlenty of powerDoesn't smell like gasEasy to operateEasy to assembleKill switch for when the bag is too fullSo, the best thing is that thing can handle a really badly overgrown lawn. My backyard was full of crabgrass, plus some Bermuda sod. It had been raining almost constantly for the last month, so it was wayyy out of hand. It actually cut it!On top of that, it's much lighter to push around than any gas powered machine and doesn't stink like a gas machine. Really quiet, too. Controls are easy. Push the start button then close the lever to keep it running. It took me 10 minutes to put together, sitting in my living room floor.Cons:Dragging an extension cordBag is too smallSide discharge is messyAny plugin electric lawn machine is going to be mildly annoying. You get used to that. I learned to walk in straight lines instead of walking in a square to keep from getting tangled up in the cord. Not that big of a deal. This thing REALLY needs a bigger bag. As stated, my yard was out of control. I filled the bag up in two rows and had to dump. I finally got sick of that and just used the side discharge. That works, but looks pretty bad. I had grass all over me and the sides of the fence. That's my own fault, not the machine. Conclusion:Would I buy again? Yup, definitely. This machine is awesome for a small yard. Just learn to walk in back and forth straight lines rather than walking in a square so you don't run over you extension cord.

This is a great little mower for the price. Most units with the new lithium batteries are very are so much more expensive. The weight of this unit is perfect if you have to go up and down and around a lot. Makes the work go faster and with less effort. My only knock on this unit is the battery is not removable for easy charging.

I got this less than a month ago. After the third use the battery began not to charge. I wrote to ask for a refund and after a whole week of exchange and telling them explicitly that I preferred a refund, they are still going to send me a replacement, which has complicated my plan tremendously as when the package arrives I'll be off on holidays. The mower itself feels flimsy and one of the screws on the handle keeps coming off, so in the middle of mowing I have to keep stopping to screw it back. With the purchase of this product I have ended with more work, a headache, and my lawn is still wild.

Wow, this thing lasts more than 30 minutes. I just did the first cut of the season and my grass had grown pretty tall, I was able to do both my front yard and backyard (medium size both) in 1 charge and the mower STILL had some juice left in it! I love how lightweight it is, the bag does fill up pretty quickly if your grass is tall, so I just ordered the side discharge attachement, do yourself a favor, if you are getting this mower, get the side discharge too! This mower is definitely high quality, easy to use, cuts the grass no problem, I did have the blade sharpened before the first cut, so it definitely makes a difference!

We were recently in the market for a new lawnmower and after looking for a week or so at stores and online we decided on this Sun Joe cordless lawnmower. We were a little apprehensive at first as we feared that it would not be able to mow our whole yard on one charge. Our property is not huge by any means but it is a good .15 acres. And as the battery is not replaceable we could not charge up 2 of them for one mow. The mower arrived quickly and assembly was a breeze I honestly think the only “tool" it required was a knife to open it. The mower is amazingly light and I have decided to store it in our basement rather than our garage even though I have to carry it down a flight of stairs. As to its mowing it does a great job for being as small as it is. It cut our yard in one go with about twenty percent of its battery remaining. Just know that if you are going to be mowing for any length of time you will have to empty the grass collection bag multiple times. It is not self propelled but it is so light that it feels like it is. Honestly though I have no real serious complaints about it. This mower is perfect for small yards and people who have trouble with heavier machines. If you find this review helpful please let us know and if you have any questions we will be happy to help.

I absolutely love this mower! Perfect for anyone so light and easy to maneuver. My only issue was the bag filled quickly however easy enough to take off and only use when necessary. Thank you Sun Joe

Mower came today. Setup up was straightforward, just attaching the handle and inserting a straightener into the bag. Good thing too because the manual doesn't help much. Came mostly charged and took about 1-2 hours to fully charge (when the red light turns green on the adapter it is done charging) but can take up to 4 hours. Used it on my smaller backyard and did a good job cutting the grass and took all of 5 minutes but filled up the bag. (Not sure if I left off the bag if the mower mulches--will have to try that when the weather warms up.) This thing is very light and very maneuverable and cuts close to edges. The highest setting, about 2 1/2", didn't seem that high--I was hoping for more. It has two speeds and it kicked into the higher speed at some point but am not sure how and why it does it. When my front lawn comes in I will test it on a larger area.I would give the MJ401C a higher rating but found out that it appears that the battery is not replaceable. I figure I will need about 15-20 minutes to cut front and back and hopefully the battery will last 3-5 years to do that. The warranty for the battery is 90 days and the mower 2 1/4 years if you register. I will update this review if things change.Edit: There are two rod axles, front and back, and need to be adjusted when setting the height. The manual makes it sound like there is only one.
