The size and shape are great for traveling with a chicken or other "pecking" bird, but diameter and depth would make it hard for a mammal to reach the bottom of the cup. They hook on great to horizontal cage wire, but they may not be spaced for all vertical wires. I remedied this by clipping off the center hook.Size is good for travel, but if you use them as a permanent feeding/watering cup, you may have to refill 3 times a day with a single animal and even more for multiple animals.I bought these cup to use with my birds when I bring them to an auction house. They are cheap enough to leave with the bird and not worry about getting the cups back after auction.
