First ... for all the reviewers out there complaining about snapped-off screw heads... Likely they did for the DIY'ers that have to use power tools (drills) for absolutely everything. But sometimes, "more power" is the last thing that is needed. These rail brackets are first quality and switched out in less than an hour WITHOUT using a drill to turn screws. The only thing I used a drill for was to extend the existing screw holes & to drill them a tad wider. And before I HAND-TIGHTENED the screws, I pre-lubed the holes and screw threads with a little vaseline. The entire set-up was a breeze and the hardware is indeed noticeably heavier (more stout) than their cheap predecesors. So don't believe for a second you're going to have problems with the screw heads shearing off. Just tighten everything by hand and you won't over-torque the heads to the point of snapping off. Otherwise the replacements are quick and easy. Initially, I thought they were a tad expensive but since we are caretaking in our house, having something rigid and heavy-duty for Mom to hold onto is a wash against expense. You can't go wrong with these replacements. Oh ... and made in Taiwan. So I didn't have to worry about it being junk.

Great brackets. The short screws for mounting the rail to the brackets vary between packages. Half were a low profile pan head(?) and the other half were a flathead for countersinks. They all worked fine.

Not the you said it was made for, but is okay to use for a cane. Just need to make sure that it is mounted into a stud on the wall.

These handrail brackets are very well made. They are solid brass and are heavy duty.. A little bit pricey, but it's worth the money if you don't want them to last a few months and look terrible after that..

I expected a bracket of thicker metal, which I got, but not of larger dimensions. So the handrail stands further away from the wall than it did compared to the original standard bracket.

These worked out perfect to replace my old gold hardware. All the holes matched up perfect to the old ones. I replaced with matte black and they have a very nice finish. I will def buy again to replace the basement in the future.

I love the replacements. I was recently renovating my stairwell , with fresh paint walls and stairs. And I originally wanted to refinish the old set until I came across these online. They are better quality by far than my originals. And the longer bracket makes it even stronger than ever. I really do enjoy the finished look and we will enjoy these for years to come. Thanks for providing a great product. We love them 🙌👍

When my son tripped going down the stairs and grabbed the bannister, the whole thing broke off from the wall. Fortunately he was not hurt. But the old hardware that came with the house was garbage. Cheap, thin metal that was more decorative than useful. I ordered these because of the value and strength. No, they're not blue - it says "Oil Rubbed Bronze" finish. They're black. I expected oil rubbed bronze to be black. Easy to install but figuring out the angle was a bit of a chore. So I drilled some holes I need to fill in. None of the prior brackets had been screwed into studs, screws were missing, etc. These beautiful brackets are sturdy, heavy and I feel good about the safety of anyone who needs to go downstairs and holds on to the bannister.
