About this item

  • 44 Sizes: The step drill bits set includes 5 standard metric bits that can replace 44 individual drill bits.
  • Titanium Coating: Our high-speed steel drill bits, fortified with a titanium coating, offer exceptional durability and maintain sharpness even through demanding tasks. The titanium coating increases wear resistance and minimizes friction, resulting in cooler operation.
  • PRODUCT Design: The split point tip, set at a 118-degree angle, significantly enhances wear resistance, making the drill bits long-lasting and efficient. The innovative two-flute design facilitates smoother cutting and enables easy evacuation of material particles, promoting cleaner and more precise drilling operations.
  • WIDELY Application: Perfect for home repairs and light jobs such as drilling holes in plastic, aluminum, copper, iron, and many other types of sheet metal(recommended to add coolant or water when drilling metal plates and the speed should not be too high).
  • CONVENIENT Storage: All the bits come in a well-organized case for easy transport and storage.

Review: Step Drill Bits, 6PCS (50 Sizes) HSS Step Unibit Drill Bit SetRating: ★★★★☆For anyone who loves to dive into DIY projects, having the right tools on hand is essential. Recently, I purchased the Step Drill Bits 6PCS set, which comes with an impressive range of 50 sizes. After giving them a thorough test, I can confidently say these bits live up to their promise.First and foremost, the construction of these drill bits is commendable. Made from high-speed steel (HSS), they are tough enough to handle metal cutting with ease. I've used them on various materials, including aluminum and thinner steel, and the results were consistently accurate and clean. The double-cut blades ensure a smooth drilling experience, minimizing burrs and rough edges — a significant plus when precision is key.The automatic center punch included in the set is a fantastic addition. It saves time and hassle by allowing for accurate starting points without needing a separate tool, which can sometimes be cumbersome to manage. This small feature has made a notable difference in my projects, ensuring everything is aligned perfectly before I drill. The versatility of the 50 sizes available in this set is another strong point. Whether you're making larger holes or tiny pilot holes, these bits have you covered. This flexibility makes the set a great investment for both casual DIYers and more serious hobbyists. That being said, I found the bits could benefit from a more robust carrying case. While the aluminum case is lightweight and portable, it feels a bit flimsy for the number of bits it holds. A sturdier case would offer better protection and organization — especially for those of us who frequently move our tools between projects. In summary, the Step Drill Bits 6PCS set is a solid choice for anyone looking to expand their toolkit with reliable, high-quality drill bits. They perform well on metal and come with the added convenience of a center punch. I’d definitely buy these again, and I would recommend them to fellow DIY lovers looking for versatility and efficiency in their drilling tasks. Overall, a worthy investment for the home workshop!

This is a great value at under $20. The center punch alone is basically free, after the decent 4pc step drill bit set. They're decently sharp, work well out of the box, and have clear markings. I've seen no wobble issues, and everything looks well machined. They come in a decent little aluminum case, throw a desiccant in there to prevent rust.

Good product makes nice clean cuts but i can tell it starting to dull already which I s disappointing. Has a nice storage case . The 3 star's are for the failure of the cutting edge

I've used these to drill holes for connectors in the sides of ABS plastic enclosures, and they worked well. Be sure you're careful about which level is the size you need.

Only needed two of the included bits but it is cheaper to get the full set. I also like the marker that it comes with. I have never really use any kind of spring-loaded punch like this, but it is kind of nice when you are trying to line up something exactly. It makes a divot in the wood and the tip of the drill bit sits nicely in there. I am not a laborer or contractor but for a weekend warrior. I'm sure these will hold up just fine.

Used these for a long time in my shop with no issues. they make holes in metal extremely well. They cut nicely and seem to hold their edge well. The center punch is the same quality as one i purchased in the past and works well. The best part of this center punch is that it is part of the deal.

The Unibits come in a neat metal hard case, with fitted foam. The bits themselves do the job and have held up on sheet metal typical with electrical box and conduit work. The punch makes quick work with starting holes.I really can't complain, the set is convenient, easy to stow away and stays together in the tool bag. Worth the money so far.

Yes, they are high speed steel and not a harder and more capable steel, but it is ABSOLUTELY CAPABLE. They do cut well. If you need to drill stainless steel then you should get the cobalt bits or other bits that have the proper hardness. These are meant to cut softer metals and do a great job at it. Even though it says the bits are made of high speed steel, I have never used a step bit at the full speed of my drill since I find it easier to control and get an accurate hole. After getting to the step I want, I use the incline to the next step to remove any burrs and get a nice edge. The key to getting a nicely formed hole and an even/continuous cut is to hold the bit perfectly perpendicular to the hole. Personally, I prefer to use this type of bit on sheet metal. Some of the steps are very small on some of the bits, so it is easier to not feel when you have reached the step you want. If you go past, then the hole will be bigger than you want. One trick that helps me is to take a black marker and mark the step just after the one that I want to cut. That way I can see when I am approaching that step and thus when to diminish the pressure I apply and slow the cut down so I stop accurately.I really like having the set! I can easily make holes in my electrical boxes/panels and not need to use a die (which I am not averse to, but it requires using/carrying additional tools. Having the step bit allows me to make different holes for different gauges without the need to switch out the bit.I am very happy to have the case which will protect the bits. It seems like it will withstand a small amount of abuse, but will not endure a larger amount that may be present if carried in the same toolbox as your hammers and other items. I carry mine in a bag that only contains my drill accessories, so I expect it will stand up well.Lastly, the automatic center punch is weak. This is not unexpected since a good one is rather expensive. One that is capable and reliably 'punches', will cost a lot more than this. I like to have the punch in the same case as these bits - protected well. This punch is actually a little more reliable than other cheap ones that I have encountered and will not throw this one away like I did all of the others. I do have a much more expensive punch and may choose to put it in this case, replacing the one that came with it, but for now will use this punch. In the past, I always used a hammer and a metal punch to create the depression to hold the bit in place, so I may even choose to put one of the many solid center punches I have in there instead. either way, having the protected location in and of itself is a plus.Recommending these, especially at this price is a simple choice for me: Five Stars... done.
