I have an old car with a side mount antenna that broke The only replacement I could find had an oblong hole. I used this bit to enlarge the hole for the new antenna. It worked perfect and drilled a hole through the auto body with no problem.

..it's not really the right alloy for that job. That said, if you use low RPMs and let this bit chisel through, it will get the job done. The hole in sink pic took 3 to 5 minutes. Not sure it has the edge left for a second hole but, for a one time, it is worth the price.

I have a 1-1/8" stepper bit I paid a LOT more money for ($60?). It wasn't quite big enough for a stainless steel sink penetration I needed for a water filter dispenser. I used the old bit for most of the hole and it popped through as expected. This bit only needed to make the last 2 steps and it struggled mightily. It did eventually give me the hole I needed, but it was a fight! If you only occasionally use a stepper bit, this will probably be fine (lubricate your cut because it will get hot from all the excess spinning). If you are a pro or use stepper bits a lot, you will be much better served by spending more money and getting a better bit.
