For use with all Starrett Test, Back-Plunger, AGD, Dial, and Miniature Dial Indicators. Also accommodates similar indicators of other manufacturers. The flexible post is an assembly of short tubular steel sections and precision ball joints, linked by an internal steel cable. It can be adjusted to any position and locked by turning a lever near the magnetic base. This makes it possible to use indicators in awkward places that are hard to reach with conventional holding devices. Assembled to the magnetic base, the post has a vertical reach of approximately 15" (380mm) and a horizontal reach of approximately 10" (250mm). The indicator snug on the end of the post can be rotated through 360 degree and locked in any position. The base has three precision ground magnetic contact surfaces. Grips horizontally, vertically or upside down. V-step holds base to arbors, shafts, chucks. Gauge Rod: 3/8" x 3" has 5/16, 1/4 and 7/32" steps, holds nos. 708, 709, 711 and 811 dial test indicators by body clamp.

The adjustable arms seems a bit flimsy when locked in place.

Garbage! I expected more from Starrett. The person that came up with this design should either figure out why it’s garbage (use the damn thing for more than a single test) or get neutered so he/she doesn’t spread the stupid.

I have now bought 2 of these. The tool holder broke on the first use with both magnetic bases. I expected higher quality coming from starrett.

This product is so handy. It allows you to ajust the dial indactor to the exact location you need it and it's very sturdy.
