I am not very satisfied with this. Although the canister is metal, the top is plastic and has a paper filter although I do realize you’re not supposed to pick up Red Hot coals it is still used for fireplace or stoves. The one I had prior to this was all metal with a metal cage type filter inside. This is nothing more than a miniature shop vac.

J'ai acheté cet aspirateur pour les cendres mais ça fonctionne comme un aspirateur normal! J'ai aspiré les cendres tièdes et les filtre et sac à filtre ont brulé! Je ne m'attendais pas à ça pour un aspirateur qui est fait pour ça! L'aspirateur expire plein des cendres dans l'air quand est utilisé, très déçu.

I actually ordered this to use in vacuuming all of the ash out of my pellet grill since it is a smaller size than my shop vac that I grew weary of hauling up/down the stairs each time.Let me just say, this was a fantastic choice since it does the job admirably. I also use it to clean the ashes in my wood burning stove. At no time do I vacuum hot ashes, but I am sure this thing could if I removed the cloth filter.For my purposes, this is the right size and is quality built so, I expect it to last for many years.

This has made the chore of ash clean up in the fireplace almost effortless. Easy and intuitive to set up and the size is perfect not too big or small. I bought it for the name having great experiences with Stanley in the past and this vac is solid in every way.

It’s ok but not near the suction of a shop vac or a regular household vac . You still have to empty the stove by hand then this unit can clean up what’s left. I wanted it make clean up easier and cut down on ash dust disappointment.

This is a great ash vacuum. I've used it numerous times and there's *never* been a problem with ash escaping. The only issue I have is that I wish it came with some attachment that would prevent larger chunks of burn wood from getting sucked into the hose. They get trapped there, stop the vacuum from working and are difficult to get out. Sometimes I've had to resort to a broom handle. But if there's just fine ash, or if I'm careful and only go after ask, vacuum works great.

I am using this as a portable on job sites although it is specifically for fireplace ash. The size is perfect and it is very well constructed. The filtration system works very well.My usual shop vacs are more powerful but this so far seems more than adequate for clean up.

Ok suction… not great. Used to clean pellet stove and worked but took a while as suction quickly slows once ash is introduced into the filter.

Definitely get an ash vacuum. For years I used a regular whop vac with a fine filter but they plug up and blow soot around the room. This ash vacuummaintains flow and filters out everything. Fantastic!
