My shop vac was wheezing like an old man with his lungs full of asbestos, and many times considered putting it out of its misery. Silly Stanley, that man puts foam filters that aren't enclosed, and eventually cause your vac to have a heart attack. You'll be vacuuming one moment thinking "wow this is great, everything is so clean" until you turn around and everything is covered in a coat of dust. This filter solved my issue once and for all, and now I can finally feel accomplished once again when I vacuum.

Its a little bit of a snug fit, probably not a bad thing. The retainer ring that comes with this did not fit, so I just reused the original and its all working fine so far. I'll buy this again when its time for another new one.

The ring was too large for my 1 gallon vacuum. The bag fit but it also seemed somewhat too big. Perhaps I have an older model 1gallon. This would probably be perfect for a 5 gallon.
