Just went to use this for the first time and within 60 seconds the blade broke at the attachment tab.

This is a nice, well-constructed rasp. It's flat and true, but very basic. I've used much better rasps with more to hold on to than this one.

Easy to change blades, and easy to change the direction of cut. This works great on mostly cured Bondo, forming styrofoam insulation (the good extruded kind, not the flaky "balls stuck together" kind) and with a sharp blade even forms fully cured Bondo reasonably well. Look for the mini 21-115 for curved surfaces, the smaller 21-399 for medium sized objects and the other 10" large one 21-296 for flattening and countouring larger items. I wish I'd found these a month ago when I was building fender flares for my van!

Handy tool to have but I you have to be careful about over tightning or causing inperfections in the file else it will catch when you try to use it and take nice hunks out of things. Keep a replacement file on hand just in case. Bending it back into shape will likely cause it to snap. Also remember, light pressure!

I learned about the existence of this thing - the surform - from Izzy Swan(check out his Youtube channel). It's a good piece of equipment to have in the shop.

Its a decent product for the price. Don't think it'll hold up for too long but I got it for one project.

My husband uses this item frequently and when his blade gave up on his old one, he didn't hesitate to buy another and says he wouldn't be without it. Delivery and ordering was fast, easy and dependable. Love using Amazon for purchasing online.
