Jorgensen is one of many tool brands currently owned by Hangzhou Great Star, a company with a lot of experience as an OEM making tools for brands like Craftsman, as well as their own Workpro brand.This 10-inch-long rasp plane comes bubble-wrapped inside a brown cardboard box, with the Jorgensen brand and a line-drawing of the product in black. The handle is comfortable to grip. Good for making quick adjustments to uneven lumber. A mini version is also available for detailed work (ASIN B0BLYW4ZCN).The blade is replaceable for long-term use, and it is compatible with the Stanley 21-293 (ASIN B002QNMVC4 or B00002X1ZJ) replacement blades.

Somewhat disappointed in that it didn't plane off wood like I was hoping.

I tried to plane a piece of pine and this rasp plane would slide on the wood. The frame is good but the blade is junk. I put a Stanley 21-293 blade on it. Now it works great and deserves the fifth star.

Not a planer at all... just left black streaks on the wood and caused some deep grooves which had to be filled.AWFUL DO NOT BUY

This wood plane is well made and glides nice and smoothly over the surface. I use wood planes often to clean up non-square cuts or even to make something fit on a non-square wall. This tool is exactly what I was looking for and it does a great job. I recently used it while putting in a butcher block shelf and needed to shave off a bit of the end. It worked flawlessly, took 2-3 passes and got my edge in the shape necessary. My one and only concern with this style of plane is that it will be difficult to sharpen and more than likely the shaving aspect will simply just need to be replaced rather than sharpened. So it will have a bit more limited life than that of a standard plane. Regardless, it's an excellent value and does a great job.
