This item is made exceptionally well. It comes rolled up nicely but unrolled into a flat piece. It has a beautiful, smooth, and shiny surface. It has two thick strands of tape on the back which is definitely needed because it does have some weight to it.I plan to put it on the bottom of my front door, just underneath the handle. My dogs scratch to be let out, but I think my dog with separation anxiety scratches heavily at the door when I am out. My door is designed where the four edges were covered with a thick metal and the front and back are separate pieces of metal that overlap the pieces covering the edges (I hope that makes sense). I noticed that the piece on the back of the door (where my dogs scratch) was being bent inward away from the rim of the door. I hammered it back in place but I’m hoping this will help protect that from reoccurring. The two concerns I have with the item are (1) that the dogs will pry it off of the wall, since it is only held on by adhesive, and (2) that they will cut their feed on it. I managed to get a cut similar to a paper cut from the edge. Since they are scratching with claws, I hope the claws hit the edges instead of their feet’s pads. The second issue: it being pulled off of the door by my dogs is likely, since they had to scratch at that angle in order to do the damage to the door I mentioned above. Since most dogs will scratch straight on (pushing the pieces towards the wall), I doubt that either of the concerns I have would be an issue for most dogs.I am happy with this item. It is tough metal, attractive, flexible, and has a good amount of adhesive on the back. It is also easy to wipe clean.

Love the idea of dressing up a kick plate! Its a nice champagne gold (to me). It seems shiny and matte at the same time, like fingerprint proof stainless steel appliance sheen.I havent applied it yet (waiting for cabinets to be painted) but other reviews have said good things about the adhesion. It does warn to wear gloves.Only time will tell for wear and tear though.Make sure you measure your kitchen for length and width. I needed about 15 ft.

I received this kickplate trim in the color black, which is more like gunmetal. It's genuine metal and ridiculously sturdy. I needed tin snips to cut this, so be aware: normal scissors won't do, nor will plastic nippers etc. This arrived in good shape, neatly wound with a protective plastic over the outward-facing side of the trim. It adheres quickly and well, and looks really nice and professional! I used this in my kitchen underneath my cabinets, but I could definitely see this being useful anywhere you like the aesthetic. It's probably worth noting that exposed edges of this are a little on the sharp side after being cut, so you should be cautious if any areas you intend to use it on have protruding corners.

This product didn’t really fit our need, we wanted to use it to protect our door from dog scratches but being metal with sharp edges, we hesitated using it. If that is not your concern, this product is great for no screw kick plate for any door or surface. Adhesive works well, be sure you are confident with where you are putting it, cause it ain’t coming back off.

I initially ordered a roll of this in the brushed black finish to use as a base plate molding for my office, which has darker colored walls. I'm not entirely sure I like the look of it for this application, but it might be better suited as a kickplate on a door or for use as cabinet runners. It's not easy to cut cleanly without getting a semi-sharp edge, but overall, it adheres to the wall very well and fulfills its purpose.

I live in an old and poorly-renovated apartment, and the bathroom sink was chipping at the base, probably from some form of dry rot. I am not willing to put in time or money to real renovations, but I wanted to cover up the damage, and this adhesive kick plate was exactly what I needed. Note that you absolutely need some kind of metal cutter or tin snips to cut this--scissors aren't going to cut it, because this is real metal. It feels solid, and the finish looks much more high-end than the price suggests. The adhesive is very strong and I imagine will hold up for years. I had exactly enough to add a kickplate to my bathroom and the cupboards in my small kitchen, and although it's hard to see the difference if you're over two feet tall, I like knowing that the house is a little more "finished."
