The only reason I'm not leaving ONE star, is that the calipers themselves miraculously survived shipping and seem to be as advertised, a budget level set with decent accuracy and repeatability. Seller did not take adequate care to ensure my product would be protected from damage in shipping. It looks like they jerry rigged a homemade box from one piece of cardboard and packaging tape, with no padding inside to protect the calipers beyond what the manufacturer put in the plastic case. The plastic case was damaged in shipping, and had a section broken from the end of the case. If they had done a few more layers or cardboard or some inserts to give some kind of standoff to protect the item from being beaten up I wouldn't be complaining.

It wouldn’t open over .200” and it even had an inspection card with it. Poor quality control. Had to clean debris out of slid gears. Then it worked great
