I had an almost identical pair of calipers for 20+ years. Then my grandson dunked them in his milk one day, they got gunked up and never worked right again. (You can't make stuff like this up... yes, it really happened,) Bought this pair as a replacement; completely satisfied. I am only a hobbyist, so they are adequate for my needs. I can not imagine going back to trying to take inadequate measurement with a ruler... now I can get exact measurements to the thousandths of an inch ! Love it.

Good luck finding a better one for the money. This is not a $150.00 caliper. This is a nice inexpensive dial caliper. I have seen these calipers used in really good Canadian Luthier Youtube channel. Making and repairing very nice stringed instruments. Checking the string gauge od, saddle height, ect.

I dont need a certified PMEL type caliper so this one is really nice for the more general work application. Im retired.I think if you are in aviation or a career where it needs pmel certification it would be quality enough to work with that too. (I'm FAA "A and P" certified myself. Nice caliper at reasonable price.

The last time I had a "non-digital" measuring device, was probably a ruler and a measuring tape, but for some precision measurements, it's been all digital but I've now gone through 3 digital calipers, two due to liquid spill and the 3rd measures but blinks! I decide on a manual caliper and most of my work only requires 1/1000" precision. After opening up the box, I cleaned up the caliper with alcohol; guessing this is anti-oxidization type light oil it seems. Then I zero'd the dial and that 's it. It measures fine as expected... and finally, no batteries!

Quality is excellent for the price. If you need a dial caliper at a low price this works just fine. It may not stand up to the daily use of a professional machinist but for the occasional use for the hobbyist, it's perfect. I recommend this over electronic ones. It requires learning how to read it (easy, really) but electronic ones eat batteries. If you do not abuse this analog instrument it will last you a lifetime. Comes with a good protective case.

Very nice quality, easy to use and read. Originally was going to buy digital but don't like paying for expensive watch batteries, also anally is simpler and less prone to problems. Recommend as a good quality tool that is not too expensive.

I've had this tool for about 8 months now and it has proven to be a decent caliper. It's not a Starrett or Mitutoyo but it's also not $150+.It has performed well and gives repeatable readings. For a basic dial caliper this unit will fill the need. For the money, you probably can't do any better. In fact, its reasonable cost makes it an excellent everyday tool that you will not worry about. Accusize Tools is a Canadian company but I'm certain these calipers are sourced from Asia. The caliper is not marked with the country of origin but they are good quality so that's a non-issue.So, if you need a good basic caliper for everyday use - these will fill that need nicely.

This is worth 100% worth the price. The case could be better, I don't like the way it opens. The cutout for the dial caliper is hard foam pad, which I like, with a soft foam pad in the lid, which could be better quality. The thumb wheel rattles around a little, but it functions perfectly without slipping, jerking, or feeling notchy. The dial has a clear plastic for protection that has some air bubbles in it, but that could be removed if you wanted, it doesn't make it hard to read. In fact the numbers are very easy to read, nice and clear. It's hardened stainless steel so it has some weight. It's well machined surfaces from start to finish, the slide is tight and smooth, it locks with little effort, the dial has a very nice grip for easy adjustments, if needed, mine was dead on out of the box. I'm just not sure you can ask for a better tool for this price. I'm very happy with this purchase, it has it were it counts, and arrived quickly.
