The Stain Identification Kit is the first step in performing a successful Jack's Magic stain removal. The Stain ID Kit is designed to take the guesswork out of removing swimming pool stains. One of the (4) simple topical tests will identify what best removes a swimming pool stain, saving both time and money.
Please Note: The water should be at least 65-70 degrees in order to insure accurate testing results.

This was trash and the instruction on how to use it was terrible. You have to use a nylon or some kind of fabric strainer and place it directly on the stain. Some of my algae or other chemical stains are in deeper areas and I can’t image leaving it in place for any long period of time for it tell me what kind of stain it is.This was useless for me and I couldn’t even return it unused.

Simple instructions and easy to use. Identified the cause of staining and what I needed to fix the issue.

Perhaps this works for some folks, but not for me. Difficult to apply to pool wall stains, requires a mesh bag or a woman’s nylon. Did not remove or identify my staining problem.

My pool is always in balance and I get the water checked often at two pool stores. However still have a stain so tried the test and followed to the letter. It did not help me identify the stay so waste of money. I still do not know what to use to get rid of the stain.

I used this product because we just had our pool refinished with Florida Gem Aggregate and it started looking green. I thought it was algae so I bumped the chlorine up and shocked it a few times. The stain pictured didn't clear. Thought it was mustard algae so tried phosphate remover and that didn't work. Finally I dropped stain solution #2 for copper and scale and it cleared that spot up for me. The white stuff in the Anode was new and do I think it is some form of scale that has caused the stain. Now I can target it without wasting money on unnecessary chemicals. Results may vary but it worked for me.

Had a scale-like build up on my liner floor. Local pool store said it was "probably" algea. Spent $ on treatment. Ordered this kit and discovered it was actually iron scale from my well water which can be dissolved and removed my axolic acid powder in a cpl days. I mail ordered a 5lb bag of the powder from a company in Florida.. but many pool stores sell it but charge more for a lower concentration. Anyway.. jacks magic was the answer to discovering the problem.

I did not have much luck using this to diagnose an organic stain.BUT, then again... I should have done that WITHOUT the kit.I do like the kit, would recommend for testing for metal stains, very useful.FIRST, test for organic with normal (cheap) chlorine tablet. My take
