This horn is very tempermental and has an airy kind of sound. I know what you're thinking "pucker up, buttercup!" But i have been playing the french horn for a very long time and it is the horn or the pistons. I am going to swap them out when the new ones come in and see if that works. So far it's kinda "meh...Edition: I bought the adapter to play with a French Horn mouthpiece. The pistons need to be greased nearly every other day. They really don’t fit very well.In comparison to the nickel plated Moz mellophone with the Monel pistons, it is definitely inferior in tone quality. The heavier Moz version sounds so much better but seems to also have sticky pistons too. The pearl key tops fall off too. Glue those guys down when/ if you buy that one.
