Auto Sleep Mode
If 10 minutes no operation then it will enter automatic sleep. The auto sleep mode will extend the life of the hard disk and fully protect the hard disk.

Unit is perfect for housing extra 3.5" SATA hard drives. Unit came with the proper cable and it was a plug and play event.The drive fits snugly in the case and so far cooling has not been an issue. Just might have to order another on for my 2.5" drive. Overall, well constructed, easy to set up and use, Works great!! I like that it automatically shuts down the drive when not used for an extended period of time. It responds quickly when requested. Great buy!

At first I was apprehensive about the unit not having a hard power button and defaulting to off in the event of lost power. However the more I thought about it, in a brownout type situation or intermittent power loss, this is exactly the behavior I would want despite not being able to reset if not physically present. I purchased the enclosure around prime day for a very good price and have been pleased with it's performance despite being entirely made of plastic. I wouldn't use it for a 7200RPM drive, at least not for long periods. My 5400RPM WD blue drive peaked at 62 degrees during a 2TB transfer and that was with the cover off. There is no fan and no way for the enclosure to dissapate heat. Transfer speeds were as expected for the drive used (about 175MB/s) so it seems UASP is working fine.One thing to note is that the unit spins down the drive after 10 mins of no activity which is good for me since the drive could go days without being accessed but probably bad for someone else who wants fast access time all the time.

After replacing my all of the drives in my computer with NVMe drives, I got this in case I ever needed to access old files. This thing works great! I can't say anything about the speed since I don't really need to benchmark that, but this device has definitely saved me time. Not needing to open up a computer to slot in a SATA cable is a luxury I didn't know I needed, and having access to basically any hard drive around me at a moments notice is such a great thing. There's no difficulty whatsoever in installing, it's practically plug and play with power and USB. No screws or assembly, the cover clips on and is totally optional. The two foam supports on the side are a bit tough to get full size hard drives through, but they keep it very stable. I'm sure it'll be an easier fit once they get worn down from usage.

I've taken all my old drives and copied them with this for future use or just the pictures alone on the drive. It's so easy to just install drive and copy over to new computer or external hard-drive that you can store all your old info on. They'd been many times this had saved documents or pics I thought I lost but saved because of this great tool! Do yourself a favor and buy it!

Bought 2 of these to repurpose some older drives. The enclosures were screwless and mostly friction based. A little snug, but overall very easy to open, install drive and once wired up and powered on, everything is working as expected. I didn't do any speed tests, but for my purposes, it doesn't really matter.This brand was cheaper, and to me, the build quality was just as good as the other brand I've tried. Almost everything was nearly identical, besides a minor difference in placement of the ports and buttons.
