The Squier Mini Precision Bass® is the perfect companion for players seeking a reduced-size instrument with classic styling and familiar Fender® tone. Highlights include a thin and lightweight body, a short-scale neck with an easy-to-play “C”-shaped profile, a Squier split single-coil pickup with volume and tone controls for sonic variety, and a hardtail bridge for solid tuning stability.

I've had this for a few months and I love it. I also have a full scale Fender P bass and this feels so much comfortable for me to play. It has great tone. I feel there is no sacrifice in sound quality.

This is the second time I have bought this model of mini P bass and they are fantastic value for money. The sound is great, a proper P bass growl or smooth depending on where you set the tone control.I have bought this one as a back up as I have been so impressed with the black one I have, and this one also didn't dissapoint. It has a very nice shade of red and £10 cheaper than the black so I have both. As the neck is a lot shorter and the body a lot smaller than the full size it is so much easier to handle and play, plus a lot lighter. I am using it in a band line up and it's definitly pulling it's weight. It is great for begginers and seasoned musicians alike. Buy one I assure you will love it!

I recently had surgery and will not be able to lift or play my full size p-bass for quite a while. Thought this would be a great solution to noodle around with in the meantime. I was also excited to see that the red ones were back in stock. This is a decent little bass that’s so much fun to play! I’m not one to do lots of mods, but if I were to do anything, I’d lower the string action a bit and tweak the intonation slightly. I haven’t gotten around to doing that yet, but I did apply some fretboard conditioner which made it look richer and more like rosewood. I thought the split pickup had a lot of punch through my Rumble 25 amp, too. I was not expecting it to play like a $1000 bass, but honestly it does the job. I can see taking it on car trips and using my iRig to play it through my phone.

This is not actually a three quarter size bass guitar, it's a mini bass. As such, it fits into guitar case, or a guitar-sized gig bag. I'm a guitar player, I *can* play bass, but I don't like the big honking full size bass that I have, so I bought this and it was a treat. It did need setup, the intonation was not quite right, but it plays like a dream, it's easy for me to navigate, and it sounds just like a Precision Bass. Yes, it's a Squire, so the craftsmanship may not be completely up to the level of a full Fender, but it's plenty good for me!There are aftermarket modifications out there that you could add, including better pickups, but for now, this is all I need. It's wonderful for home recording.

First the con. Setup is non existent. It is mandatory to set it up before even trying to play it.After that it is all good. Having a much shorter scale gives a different sound than a regular P Bass, but it does have a good sound. Hardware and electronics are quite good for the price point. Good looking and fun to play. It is actually a little smaller than a Strat. Fret seperation is less than a long scale bass and more than a guitar. Perfect if you desire to go up the neck and play a little lead. You'll get some strange looks from people who don't know what it is.VERSITILITY: I currently have mine strung with piccolo strings and it is working out quite well. The sound is much richer than a regular guitar. I tried putting a set of heavy guitar strings (they are long enough) on it but found that the ends of the strings pulled through the bridge when tuning up. At some point will try it again using bass string ends like a washer on the strings.I thought long and hard about buying this bass, thinking it might be a mistake to waste money on a "toy". It isn't a toy and it was not a mistake.

I like the tone, size and weight of this Squire Mini! Maybe it's not the best for the true professional, but for playing in the house and at small gigs, it's perfect!
