For the 0.8gal size (and I am pretty sure the smaller one), the bottom-press-plate that is hold onto the threaded ram by 2 set screws falls off. The set screws are not long enough. We returned and got the larger one which has a different design of that plate. The larger one has worked great so far! We have never gotten our pulp as dry as we did with this press. We will love this thing.

I like the portability of this juice press. It is perfect for small batches of jelly. Since purchasing weâve made 150 1/2 pints of blueberry, plum and mayhaw jelly in a monthâs time. The press is easy to use and easy to clean. It comes with one mesh bag that is still in very good shape. For convenience sake, we will be purchasing another bag or two just to speed up the process.

I make my own veggie stock. I used to squeeze the pulp by hand to get all the good juices out. This tool is an amazing time saver. The pulp doesnât get bone dry like when I squeeze by hand but itâs good enough. It doesnât clog at all like the juicer machine I got (and regretted) for this same purpose. The many hours of squeezing pots and pots of veggie broth are gone and I am grateful. Team this up with my instant pot and I get amazing tasting broth fast. Itâs a fun family activity to make broth now: my toddler starts it off until it gets too hard for him and then mommy and baby do it together. And when it is super hard, daddy helps spin it a few final times. Fun times!

I use it to squeeze liquid out of grain after wet grinding, it does a pretty good job. You would have to do multiple passes to get most of the water out. However, the base of the press is not sturdy enough, after a couple of uses, we noticed the base of the press has deformed. The impact on the functionality is probably minimal but I've seen other press designs where the base is stronger.

I bought this press to squeeze the water out of my home made butter after washing the buttermilk out. It has saved me so much time and and has saved my hands as I used to squeeze it out by hand. I'm also wanting to get into cheese making and will use it for that as well. It's sturdy and the crank is smooth and easy to turn. I highly recommend this press.

This is a wonderful small handy easy to assembly press. It was great to use when squeezing out the liquid from my eggplants to get them ready for jarring. This press is going to be used to make small batches of wine, tomato sauce and pickling eggplant and oven dry tomatoes too. Great price!

This juicer is impossible to hold in place while you use a massive amount of force to pull out barely any juice. The spout is too high in the main bowl to allow for easy draining, and it also shifts around constantly requiring a second person to hold the spout in place. My husband was cranking the top, I was holding the bottom- and after 10 minutes of frustration we got 1/4 cup of juice.I bought this for pressing herbs and found that while you can use it on a countertop, it really should be mounted to a base of some sort. The handle can get quite difficult to turn as you press your material. It is a little awkward when removing plant material but it is what I expected.Solid piece of equipment but you really need two people (or have it mounted to something SOLID) to produce adequate pressure for thorough squeezing. Those were some of the reviews I read while waiting for this delivery to arrive. I have not started on my project yet. This image I am providing hopefully correct some of these challenges. I am planning to attach tubing to the sprout to drain the grapes juices into the collection bottles.

This thing is useless!- For starters, it doesn't have any feet on it, so it just moves when you try to turn the handle.- If you try to clamp it down, the base bends because it's thin metal.- It's not possible to get enough leverage on the handles to get any meaningful amount of juice. For me, it was more effective to chop my apples, put them through a blender, and then wring the juice out by hand.Don't waste your money.

I was concerned as to whether this would work for me. I'm pleased to report that it works great. I used it my first time to make ricotta salata cheese and it worked great. This is my purpose for buying this and I love it. If you're a cheese maker, I recommend trying this press.

We initially bought this to press apples for homemade apple cider. We used it once and immediately returned it. It seemed quite sturdy, came assembled, and looked easy to use. However, once we put the apples in (they were in small pieces and to make it easier we heated them up) we found that as soon as there was pressure on the apples, the handle for lowering the plate became difficult to turn. Very quickly, we were unable to continue turning the handle. Upon loosening the handle and removing the apples, we found that they looked like they had not been pressed at all, and we got very little juice out of them. We returned this item and purchased the Squeeze master Classic Press, which worked much better. So if you are looking to make any sort of juice/cider, I would not recommend this item, but instead go with the classic press which actually gets the juice out.

This press is great, itâs a total game changer for my herbal oils and tinctures. Iâve recovered 1/3 more liquid by using this press, I consider that a win. The press itself is quite sturdy. Other commenters have mentioned that it isnât made of stainless, but thatâs not true (at least not for the product I received). A magnet will readily stick to every single part of this press from the frame, to the pressing disk, to the cylinder containers and strainers. The pressing disk is too heavy to be aluminum anyways. My father is also a welder and he confirmed that everything is stainless. As for commenters who mentioned grease in the disk fittings - the grease is there on purpose so that the disk doesnât rotate along with the press while youâre turning the lever. If you simply pre-filter your liquids using a cheese cloth or nut milk bag to remove as much liquid as possible, then there should be no reason (in most cases) that the disk should be submerged in liquid, therefor any grease contained above the disk cannot come into contact with your products. A c-clamp is helpful to keep it attached to a table, but I just put the press on the ground and use two feet on either side of it to keep it in place while turning the lever. The press is really easy to clean and the filtration bag that comes with it is great & reusable. Itâs a slow process, since you have to turn the lever and wait for the liquid to come out, and sometimes you have to tip the press to get it all, but it works. This is a great press for the price and after only a couple uses will pay for itself in the material Iâm able to recover. Iâm so happy!
