This is a really nicely made bit. Smooth shank protected with oil. The flutes spiral up very precisely to a nice ball nose on the tip. Edges are consistently sharp.I have no way to judge the blue coating at present, as it would take sustained use on a CNC to really show the difference. For hand router work you won't really push the bit that much if you are just using it for hobby work. However, the bit is machined well and I expect it to last a fair while.

This ballnose bit from Xdengp has a 1/4" shank, 1/16" tip and is 3" long overall. The bit works well with detailed carvings on my CNC. Typically I like the longer length on bits, but I don't know that it was necessary on this one unless you are doing a very deep carve. It could probably be 1" shorter and still be a great bit, but this is a minor criticism.

Narrow tip and gentle taper permits impressive detail, but it's still beefy enough to move through walnut at a reasonable clip without breaking (or deflecting noticeably) - 130ipm with a DOC between .02 & .04" was no trouble

This did an amazing job when using it to write small cursive letters.

I gave this cutter a quick test on my manual Bridgeport with some scrap hardwood I had laying around. Oak, Hickory and Cherry. I have some pattern making/mold projects planned for the future for casting up some parts and this taper End Mill will come in handy. It cuts well and clears chips just fine. It will also give the draft needed for the patterns. And it's nice that it comes in good ol' standard English sizes. So I don't have to convert anything from metric. I am looking forward to seeing how well the NACO coating holds up as I have not yet had any experience with that particular coating. All in all a fair deal for an end mill of this type. Oh, almost forgot. The shank is .0004 under nominal so it will chuck up un a collet, shrink or solid holder without issues.

I used this bit for a few passes over some maple stock that I was testing another bit from the same manufacturer with.It stayed sharp and performed as expected. I like that it has the bit specs laser etched on the shank. I don't know how long the coating will stand up, but it was still intact after the trial run I gave it.I don't have much else to say about this - it's working well and appears to be the quality I expect from a tool in this price range.

I have 19 carves on this one bit and the results are still phenomenal. I carve both Cherry and Sapele. Anyone that carves cherry knows it can be horrible to clean up after a carve. With this bit, clean up only took a few minutes. I run 6 CNC machines, time is important. This bit dramatically reduced the clean up after a carving.
