Great to use while performing auto repair vs using expensive paper towels or rags, real quick on absorbing oil and wiping grease

I have been buying a name-brand item of garage tissues, but I wanted to try these. I’ve used these pads to apply LiquidFilm to a black metal print press for rust prevention. I only used 1 tissue for the entire press, and the one tissue held up just fine. It didn’t leave any tissue material on the press. These tissues have a more synthetic felt surface than the regular garage paper tissues. The item description says a thickness of 2mm; the pads are kind of waffled and would probably fold a good amount of motor oil or the like if drenched, but I haven’t tested this yet.

In my husband's woodworking shop, he often needs to apply several coats of oil to his finished pieces. He used to use sheets of cardboard but that really wasn't a great solution. So we got these and they've been excellent! He can put them on the pads while he is oiling everything, and then use them as drying mats, as well. They are so absorbent, he's even been able to reuse some. It would be great if they were a little bit larger, but you get so many that it's no issue to use a couple or a few, if he needs to. Overall, very satisfied with this solution.

These absorbent mats are something everyone that works in the garage should have. They're great for sopping up oil spills, or other fluids, but they're not great for water based spills. For under 40 bucks, this pack should last a shadetree mechanic quite a while.
