I have this and another water absorber in my diesel drum. Somehow i still had a layer of water in the drum, in the same area that this would sit, yet it didn't really look any different than the initial product, certainly nowhere near the swollen "fully saturated" pic after being in there a month when I ran all my diesel through a set of water separating filters. Not sure if mine is defective or what, but a month should be plenty of time to work or see a difference with the amount of water that was filtered out
