I had a broken 1/4 -20 tap and thought i would try these carbide end mills to remove it. I used up 2 of them but was able to remove the tap a little at a time running about 400 rpm. Good product.

Hey – Guess what 'Speed Tiger' sells? They sell end mills. They don't sell dog clippers, nose hair trimmers, party balloons, adult diapers or kitchen sinks. They don't obtain their products from a whole sale truck. Their motto is: Speed Tiger – Striving for Excellence. I believe 'um. They're one of three companies I go to for affordable, quality end mills. I first gave Speed Tiger a try when I needed to cut a 5 foot x 3/16” key way in a reversing rod that I fabricated for my '53 Monarch lathe. I used a Cr flavored boat prop shaft for the reversing rod. I bought a 5 pack of 3/16” Speed Tigers. They were the same flavor as these beautiful 5/8” - four flute micro grain with the AlTiBN coating. In fact, under a 5x glass the 3/16ths look just like these 5/8”. I burnt up the first 3/16” in the five foot keyway, the second was none too happy when I swapped her out for a fresh end mill to make the final passes, but she was still cutting. Yeah, I probably could have bought a higher quality cutter for 50 bucks and maybe finished the whole cut with one cutter – maybe. I didn't - I bought (5) speed tigers for 35 bucks and still have 3 good 3/16” end mills – (two are virgin). I've done some cuts with these 5/8” big brother of those 3/16” on the same CR flavored SS – Scraps from the reverse shaft. Test cuts were made between 500 and 550 rpm. Cuts look great, finish would be better if I spun them a little faster – I'll save that for when I really need it. These 5/8” Speed Tigers look no worse for the wear.I can't afford the Kennametals - even if I could I wouldn't buy them right now. I'm not a machinist – I do a lot of machining – but I'm not a machinist. I don't have any production woes to keep up with, and time ain't money when all you have is time – and time would be about all I'd have if I burnt up a 300 dollar end mill due to a calculation error. I like the Speed Tigers – they make quality end mills that do what I need 'um to do, they last, and I can still afford some rice and beans.7 Super Novas for The SPEED TIGER EISE 5/8" 4 Flute 2 pack - AlTiN Coated, Micrograin Carbide End Mills ~ Thanks for Reading – Have an Incredible Life! ~

Did a lot of milling with one bit on stainless steel, which is hard on any end mill. It's still clean and sharp.

I'm not saying I used one of these to deepen an existing 36mm x 104mm slot from 3.5mm to 8.5mm deep in a 1018 steel plate with a dewalt trim router at 16k RPM, because that'd violate some safety rules. But I am saying that this is a fantastic endmill that could definitely do the above without breaking a sweat (or endmill) and leave a clean surface finish while it's at it.
