I am sure wire fishes have their place, but the last few times I used this I was amazed. Much better design, and you can really rip on this thing while pulling some heavy wire without the scare of it breaking.

It's a great fish tape for short pulls. Light weight but durable.

This is a must have if you’re gonna snake through conduit for cat 6 runs or anything similar of an electrical cabling nature. The leader is versatile and effective and can easily maneuver most pipes or conduit. The body does stick or jam and even without much effort I’ve been able to pull back and get it to pass with obstructions along the way. It doesn’t rust or retain dirt and is easy to recoil unlike alot of the metal fishes we had prior. Only thing would make it better if is it glowed in the dark!

I do a lot of landscape electrical work and mostly use 3/4” PVC conduit pulling 14 gauge wire. Today I had two of my pulls with 360 degrees of 90’s and 45’s. One was 55’, and the other 62’. I brought my tub of nylon fish line and vacuum just in case. I pushed the tape all the way through both runs so easily that I had to go see if I was all the way through and to my surprise It was, both times. I could have had another 90 degrees on top of the 360. Totally blown away by how easy it was in both directions. What I think plays a big factor in this is there’s less surface contact inside the pipe because of the twisted rope like design where there’s a very minimal portion of the fish tape touching the pipe. It just glides through. After today I’m back here to buy a second one just so I have a spare. Now I’ve read reviews where guys were having trouble on pipe above 1”. I can’t say anything about that one way or another. But it works perfectly with 3/4”, and it made my day a whole lot easier.

I have the 75 foot version, perfect for the work I needed to do at home. I have always used the flat metal type fish lines and wondered how this would compare, both good and bad. Overall, after getting use to it I definitely like it.The braiding and thicker cable definitely keeps this from getting stuck in small edges or crevices that would take you sweat and time to wiggle loose. The downside is that it sometimes is a bit harder to force through certain areas where you were used to pushing the flat fish flush against the wall. Once you get the hang on twisting it, like a corkscrew, it really slides easily. The end I have seen before and it does not have the normal hook a lot are used to. This is a fisheye type. You will need to tie something through this or use lots of tape which defeats the purpose.Trick: What I do is attach a thinner and very strong wire through the fish eye. I then run the tape to wherever I need and attach the wire I am trying to run to the end of the thin and strong one. A quick pull through and done. This uses the benefit of the fish and eye hole and already has the route done. These are made mainly for PVC type pipe runs and fishing. It did ok behind insulation and drywall. But the material is made for slick pipes. Even bends are quickly negotiated. This wound up easily with no tangles or kinks. The end and the braided part seem to be attached together well and can be disconnected. This allows for other ends to be attached. I never found any other ones but it is a neat idea to have different end types.I will look to longer models of this brand it I require them. While a bit more, the non breakable and non bendable material, plus being slick, is a step up.
