I'd like to give this 5 stars, but there were a few cavats.1) I thought I could leave turn the battery on/off for the light, but removing is a better way to insure it doesn't just burn and die out.2) the screw size didn't fit my fish, so I had to jig it to work added some copper wire in space. will get an adapter later. A good expectation of the s/tc would be good to allow buying an adapter. That said, fishing with this was really simple, and got the job done. I easily found the target, and proceeded to run without wasting valuable time in my very hot Texas summer attic.Since I didn't have to force any jambs, I didn't experience any issue and the plastic was in good condition when checked. added to my regular toolbox for future jobs.

this stuff makes a big difference over regular fish tape because you can actually see it in the dark

The lighted bullnose arrived and I immediately tested it out. The light itself worked, although I took note that the internal light (that you would push in to turn on and pull to turn off) was finicky. During the one time I was able to use it, the light kept turning itself off as it was going through the wall. It would get to the other end but I wouldn’t see it. The light was very temperamental. I went to try turning it on for the 5th time (same wiring project) and the plastic protective cap came off in multiple pieces. Maybe mine was defective from the beginning? The light never worked right and the cap shouldn’t have broken as it did over the course of 5 wire runs.

This unit is very bright and easy to see at long distances, both for fishing inside a wall, and just for seeing where your are going when you are fishing down a mostly open ceiling. I broke it on my first use though. Having said that, It was my fault it broke. I was in a commercial ceiling trying to go over an airduct that was right up against the roof, and it was a spot I could not see. The lighted tip got stuck and while trying to pull it back the clear plastic tip broke. I should have not pulled so hard. I have since ordered a Klien that is way more robust and user friendly. The Klien is larger, but the odds of breaking it are slim to none, it has replaceable batteries, and it doe the obvious twist on and off instead of pushing and pulling that this unit does. I wish I had gotten the Klien the first time around.

It needs to come with instructions on how to turn the light on/off (take light and battery out push light toward battery insert light and battery back into case to turn off reverse then replace) instead of just instructing you not to twist the light...I reordered it and had the same problem could not turn it off....
