DVDs are out of demand now after the arrival of OTT platform. But since I have a collection of more than 500 DVDs I wanted to buy one. Sony is the best brand even though ₹25k is too high in today's date. But I always prefer SONY.... because my TV too is SONY. 👍👍👍. Its good and you can watch all region DVDS and there is also an USB slot.

I bought this player to use in my bedroom. I also have the previous model, the 3500, in my living room from a previous purchase. First, it's a great blu ray player and I have no trouble getting it to read even DVDs from the local library. Compared to the previous model, this version is much faster, especially noticeable when browsing Youtube. On the 3500 it was kind of sluggish (not as bad as the Roku Stick but still pretty bad), but on the 3700 it navigates very smoothly. The 3700 also has some more apps than the 3500 but nothing that particularly interests me (mostly generic movie channels and Indian programming).I do have two bones to pick with both models, however. First is the dedicated app buttons to things like Netflix on the controller. My big hands too often accidentally press it on the small controller. I ended up programming my universal remote to use in it but my universal remote doesn't have all the features as the Sony controller. Still beats it cutting to Netflix unexpectedly.Second is that both models do not work well with HDMI switches/hubs. I have an older TV for my bedroom with only one HDMI port, so that is where my HDMI switch comes in. My HDMI switch has trouble with the Sony signal and will cycle between my different HDMI devices without actually displaying either one. Without the Sony blu ray player connected, the HDMI switch functions perfectly fine. I've read that this is a problem with Sony products in general, but I haven't tested it with my PS4 (it's in my living room on a newer TV). If you have this problem, the best solution I have found is resetting your surge protector(s) but you may still have to fiddle with the HDMI cables anyway. If you can get it set, you don't hsve to worry about it. But if you have to disconnect something or if your power goes out, you'll probably have to fix it again.I've heard other people have had issuss with the disk tray but I personally have not run into this problem.Overall, I would recommend this player.

Sony has solved the child lock problem with a free upgrade to its operating system. I had some difficulty with the download via wifi, but was successful with a wired internet connection. Wifi, however, worked fine on Sony's numerous streaming apps, including Netflix and Amazon Prime. I own an almost identical, older model of this player and the wifi completely failed -- requiring a wired connection. So, there may still be a few problems with its wifi hardware. Nevertheless, I purchased the newer model since it is the best unit I could find.The streaming apps are plentiful and likely the most popular. Some brands do not carry the adequate selection of theSony player, although you won't see the hundreds of apps showing on a Roku, for example.If you have a Sony TV, the remote is compatible, otherwise you may have to use a separate remote.The unit is compact, attractive, and easy to install. It does not have a digital optical audio output or composite outputs. You must connect picture and audio through a HDMI cable, not included. Most buyers should not have a problem with this, although my old Denon amplifier, for example, does not accept audio from HDMI. Check your equipment to make sure it is compatible.

Overall I have had good luck with this player. It’s quite compact. I use an Ethernet cable, so that I received the fastest possible speed with my internet service. I’ve streamed a couple of movies from Amazon, and they worked out fine. I’ve played both standard DVD’s as well as Blu-Ray discs, and both have played without an issue.The remote is small / compact, but it works fine. It took me a couple of minutes to find out how to sync the remote with my TV (instructions are tucked-away on the set-up paper).One thing I really like is the USB port. I have a Western Digital passport drive, with lots of videos and pictures, so it’s really great to be able to view them through the Sony device.Overall I’m very pleased. It’s small. . . . it’s affordable. . . and it works. What more can you ask for?
