I bought one of these 4 years ago. It's a very basic player but it has worked fine until today, when it died. I suppose 4 yrs is a good lifespan for an entry level blu-ray. I tried several recommended ways to eject my disc but I eventually had to manually open the unit to remove it. There's no reset button nor a button to manually open the tray. All that being said, I'll buy another.

With Netflix going to streaming only, a huge number of movies titles are no longer available anywhere. Netflix had killed the video store, and now only has a limited number of titles available for streaming at any given time.To watch the movies I would like watch I find myself buying discs. Our old DVD player finally gave out and needed replacing. The Sony Blu-ray player works great for playing discs and as a smart TV device in its own right. Loads Blu-ray discs fast, and doesn't take up much space.

This is the second purchase of this Sony blueray player from this vendor. Very pleased with delivery time and the player. No doubt that these are refurbished units due to the condition of the box. Missing batteries on second purchase (no biggie). Would definitely buy again.

My Samsung blueray quit working, the one in my mancave. I don't have cable or wifi available, but can download movies on pad and run off the smart tv. But I still have discs and still purchase them once and a while. While browsing for a new inexpensive player, I noticed they offered refurbished ones, and for a very reasonable price, so I took a chance. I was surprised when it arrived, it was about the size of a car radio, worked on 12V. Came with an HDI cable which was too short for me, but I could use the old one, NP. And so far so good, I've played a few movies on it, and everything worked as it should. So this worked for me.

Great product for why we bought it. My wife owns a lot of movies that aren’t on any streaming service or sometimes our internet goes down so we CAN’T stream. My only issue with it: it’s advertised that you can cast your phone screen to the device but I have not been able to; even after downloading the app it suggests you use.
