Must-have if your solar panel does not have its own overcharge shut-off controller. We are using this solar setup to trickle-charge the battery on a classic car we don't drive much. So far, so good!

You have to dig into the specifications but it works well for LiFePO4 batteries.I use it with two 100 watt solar panels to charge a bank of ten 7ah LiFePO4 batteries.No complaints at all.Works perfectly.Will buy again for another project.

No way to select battery type, questionable IP rating. There are definitly better options out there. However, this is compact and has mounting holes, so that is a plus.Not sure I'll end up using this for anything. Into the random electrical bin it goes for now!

As others have stated, this is definitely not waterproof. Longevity is questionable, and it lacks a critical information.But on the upside, I emailed the support contact included to inquire about the max open circuit voltage and they responded within a day with the following.Thank you for your contacting.The open circuit voltage is 23.6V. Connect the solar panel. If the blue light is on, it indicates a successful connection.Connect the battery again. If the blue light 'Charging' lights up, it indicates that the battery is being charged. If the battery is fully charged, the green light will light up.Have a nice day,SOLPERK SERVICEThis should be fine for keeping the battery on a trailer topped off or something non critical.

I like the size of the MPPT controller it can fit almost anywhere. The controller is missing some important features like being able to set the battery type. There is no option to set battery type and it seems like it would charge Lithium the same way as a Gel cell or lead acid battery. Each type of battery chemistry requires a different charge profile and this device only has one setting.The other thing is there is no way this device is IP67 waterproof or dust proof. The input wires where the SAE connectors enter the housing has no sealant and there is plenty of space for water and the elements to enter this device. There is no rubber gaskets around the housing so I don’t see how this could prevent water from entering for 30 minutes at 1 meter depth for the IP67 rating.

BOTTOM LINE:1. I recommend this SOLPERK-12V 10Amp MPPT Solar Charge Controller.2. The current price of ~$30 is a bit high.LIKES:- Charges my LiFePO4 lithium battery.- Waterproof.- Tiny and compact. Perfect for stash and go.- Decent quality.- Nice set of safety and hookup proof features.DISLIKES:- Doesn't charge anything other than 12 volt batteries.- Tiny and light duty. Only good for certain use cases for me.
