Havent even tried the charge controller yet, but...Dont know how things are done where they are from, but here in the US, black is negative and red is positive on 12v systems. The cable that is intended to be attached to the battery is wired backwards. That means the red wire gets connected to the negative terminal and the black wire to the positive. Just the thought of it makes me twitch. At a minimum, it will cause confusion for anybody working on it. At worse, it will cause the controller to get hooked up backwards and cause a short/inverted charge of the battery.Their response regarding the acknowledged swapped wires:"normal phenomenon, not a problem"

This is very widely compatible, supporting the most common battery types, including the LiFePO4 solar batteries which I use. The settings are predefined by battery type, though, you can't set your own custom voltage ranges as with some chargers. That's a feature I don't need but is worth mentioning isn't included, you need to be using one of the predefined types or this won't work for you. The USB ports do support fast charging and are handy, though the rubbery flap that covers them feels flimsy and means this isn't waterproof like some controllers, either. Unfortunately the USB charging requires a battery being attached, you can't just plug this into a solar panel and charge your phone with it. It does get warm while fast charging, but not warm at all really just charging your battery on solar, at least with anything under 100-watts. I charged my 12Ah solar battery from a 50-watt panel in a few hours from this, and it did just as well as any other good MPPT controller I own.I really liked the digital display, it can be a little hard to read in bright sunlight, but it shows the current battery voltage and if you press the button it shows the charging current, then switches back. A little basic, no view for temperature or calculated watts or anything, but just being able to check the amp current is super useful for knowing if you've got your panels angled well, so I was happy. This is also slightly smaller and lighter than most. I feel like this would be a good choice for travel. As long as you can keep it out of the elements the ability to check the amp current you're getting on demand would be great for those folding, portable solar panels, and the ability to also charge a phone from this without waiting for the battery itself to charge up would be really useful. For a more permanent setup, like in my backyard, I'd probably choose a different model with waterproofing so I didn't need to keep an eye on it while in use, but for camping or a road trip I think this is honestly my new favorite charger. I'm overall very happy with it, and would definitely choose it again- 5-stars!

This is connected to a 45 w solar panel, which I am then using to keep a rarely driven vehicle's battery topped off as well as an electric start generator which only sees action in hurricane season.I'm not have any of the issues I saw from other reviewers but will update this if indeed issues arise as those. I already had a cable made which went to connectors for my battery, but they do include on with stripped ends so that you can make one to suit your needs if you desire.

My other solar charge controller is a giant metal box that has confusing options. This unit you can leave connected to the battery, it weights almost nothing is reasonably water proof. The best thing I found, the unit only turns on when there is voltage on the input (solar) side. Now you can have a "self charging" battery that only gets charged with solar. It also remember the selected battery type.I verified a little under 10A going into the unit with just 15V, sensitivity seems high so careful not to overload the input voltage with big panels in series or such.It is unknown if this charges as higher voltage such as 14.6V. I had put a meter with lifePO4 selected, I see 13.7V, although I don't really care if a battery charge to the absolute max, which could be bad for battery life.

This OXSUN mini charge controller is perfect for powering a YoLink hub as an isolated relay (note you only need one YoLink hub in your network connected to the internet) out in a field somewhere where you can't get power to it.The hub consumes about 4W average, so a 12.8V 10Ah (128Wh) LFP battery can power it for (128/4=)32 hours with no sun.Connect the charge controller battery leads to the 12V LFP battery (may have to change terminals to a 1/4-inch spade size). Then connect the YoLink hub to the USB connector of the charge controller under the rubber flap on the charge controller. Finally connect the solar MC4 connectors on the charge controller to a 100W solar panel.100 Watts solar max allows up to 8 Amps of charge speed (0.8C).Put everything into a IP67 waterproof plastic electrical box - I created short MC4 cables with MC4 connectors to provide a waterproof path (via two 5/8-inch holes in the case) for the solar power into the box.Mount the box under the solar panel, on a pole out in a field (I used a Renogy pole mount kit).Make sure the box is not blocked in line of sight to another YoLink hub in the relay (preferably within 400 feet), or to the peripheral YoLink devices you are trying to reach.Works even with days of dull and wet weather.Nice job, OXSUN!Probably should not use an LFP battery outside in Winter if temps get below freezing, particularly if its sunny and could charge fast.

Needed this for my Solar setup. Very straight forward item and works just like the other controllers I have. Quick to arrive and works for my application!
